What would Bob Teague buy??
I found this rather interesting.
I don't personally know Mr. Teague, but I kind of assume he could probably buy about whatever boat he wanted. I'm sure he could power it how he wanted.;) :p He has driven probably more different brands and models of performance boats that most anyone around, including skaters, Spectre's, MTI's, Nor-techs (?), etc. In other words all the big boys stuff. So, when he decides to buy a boat for himself, which does he order?? Well, after driving a DCB F-29 for Powerboat's test, the next day he called and ordered one for himself. This info came fron Dave himself (owner of DCB boats) I don't know that much about all these cats, but to me, that makes a pretty strong statement about DCB. I love the looks of an F-29, and apparently they can impress even one of the most experienced cat drivers around. Anybody have any experience with DCB boats? |
From what I can gather, Dave makes one hell of a ride.
The name is just such a turn off. |
Bob's DCB
I saw this boat at Teague the other day. Simple graphics, nice color choices, overall a very good looking boat. Plus I hear it's going to have some fairly large power. I hear he will be using this boat mostly at the Parker River and Havasu. I dont think that this would be Bob's offshore weapon of choice, considering the fact that there is a 36' Skater flat deck at his disposal parked about 20 yards away. Must be nice!!!!!

There's been alot of good smack about the F-29 on the Hot Boat site of late.

Pics dammit, we need pics!

I read about and saw a picture in one of the Magazines that he also has a Fountain. I think the article was about the SCOPE Poker Run.:)

Anyone have a link ?

They don't have the F-29 up, but it basically looks the same as the 34 on the home page. |

I realize this won't be an ocean boat for him, and that the boat is probably not intended as such. It just occured to me that it does say a lot about DCB boats. I mean, Skater makes a 28 and a 32' also right? ;) |
The power is to be one of his new 800efi's(I think) with Teague (whooda thought?) Platinum drives.
Should run 140+. Stock 525 mercs will run 125. That's an extremely efficient hull. |
Bob and Dave have been tight for years so that probably had a little to do with the decision. Before the 29' dave told me Bob was going to buy a 34'.
I owned two DCB's and and Eliminator Rigged by DCB prior to them making their own boats. I will not buy from them again, but they do build a nice boat. The 29 that was on the cover of both HB and PB mag is owned by a friend, and it runs very good. I was told that Bob was very impressed with the boat when he tested it. I also taked to Bob at Havasu last year about the Liquid Metal Skater, and he also had very good things to say about it as well. I agree with 3DO, I believe he will be using this boat at Parker and Havasu. For an offshore boat I think he might choose something else. My.02 |

125 with 525efi's sounds real off to me, unless they tow it up on plane and use up five miles of water to get top speed. 108-112 sounds more like it with a set of 525EFI's. Anyone can get the big number, but what is the use if it takes twenty minutes to get there.
