Cobra Boats

Does anyone have any info on Cobra Boats Catamarans their web site doesn't seem to work anymore and the phone listed is disconnected, Is this place still in business? Does anyone own one of these boats with a single sterndrive in it I thought they used to sell it with a single 750 reporting 100 mph for $100,000, I am interested in any info on true tunnel ( no pod ) single engine cats

I have one with single Bravo1 and 415HPmagEFI that was supercharged and about 725HP and did 100MPH. It is apart now as I am adding 380 tabs, stelling ext box with my 'On-Board-Dyno' to test and show, lowering the engine 5", add tubular swim platform, HPI mufflers, redoing the hatch to a useable sunpad, and ? for the engine-replace mine back in, change to 500EFI, or build a 540 with AFR heads and Tomcats Intercooler.

What questions do you have?

I have a twinn engine cobra cat that I didn't get in the water untill the end of sept last year so I'm still in the fine tuning stage with it So far I really like the boat It handles nice and is built well. I am thinking of going a few feet smaller with a single engine cat for my next boat though But thats because I want something that seats 4 people in the back seat and has a center pod which helps in giving some kind of cabin. Most of cobra 30' cats were built as a single engine set up and I always hear that they performe very well and fast.Last year cobra boats owner talked to me and said he was still building cobras and also doing some photo shoots with a I think a 36' hull in NYC. Thats the last I heard. If I can find the phone number that Pete gave me I will pass it on to you. It's the only time I ever talked to him but it sounded like he was gearing up to build boats.

Hey 2k's did you get that cable hooked up yet?????????????? Tripps

TwoKs 01-24-2004 04:57 PM

Hey Tripps, I thougth you were going for that boat? They just shrink wraped it again! Maybe the owner decided to put it back together again? and again and again. That seems to happen every time someone offers him his price. What a waste of a nice boat. Later Keith

ss930 I have a couple of pictures on my desk top. There not very good ones I took them with a junk aol camara. I don't know how to get them from my desk top to here . If someone tells me how and I'll try. Keith

Open "my computer" then look in "my pictures". Once you find your pictures posting them is easy... Just fill in your post like you normally would, but before you "submit reply" click on the "attach file: Browse..." icon. When you do that a window will come up and ask you to "choose file". Use the drop down menu to find "my pictures" (or wherever your picture is located on your computer), then select your picture and click open. Once this is done you can "submit reply"... hopefully if all went a planned, you should see your picture in your post. ;)

I would love to talk with either one of you with the sterndrive cobra's I am currently working on a comparable 30 ' cat true tunnel with twin 496's and have a blank hull I wanted to rig with a single, I am just wanting to rap about weight handleing caracteristics, drive height etc. This boat does have a cabin just upholstered bulk heads and carpet with some lighting, but we could rig it out however someone wanted so for the guy wanting to get a little smaller cat this may work but still a 30' i also have a 28' Profile here with a big blown 502 single it is a true tunnel cat could use some cleaning but the guy wants to sell it cheap runs real good and cionsistent mid 90's It'll go 92 on the speedo but the pito is shot and if you figure rpm's a slip it's running faster than that. If you could give me daytime number so we can talk or give me a call at 573-374-5257 thanks Jason
