Went to Chicago Show
Was in town on business went to the show last night. Being from New England it was nice to see Eliminators ( this months powerboat cover boat), Sunsation, Nordic, Black thunder, NorTech and of course Baja and the new Cobalt was there. It was nice being a thursday night no lines and easy to get on the boats. Really liked that Black thunder.
Oh yeah and of course the guy selling Mops, Knifes and magic tape. |
Glad to hear you enjoyed the show. I have no choice but to fight the crowds this year and attend on Saturday. Any details on the fun-go fasts? Nortech and Black Thunder???? What did Eliminator bring???
And yes, I particularly like the vendor area...my favorite the last couple years is the guy with the flint stick thingy majiggy that you can strike a quarter on it and it will spark at 10 trillion degrees to start your fire or something. |

MnFastboat...now that's a scary thought. If you've ever seen them before they are extremely small and I think they are made of magnesium or something...a cool invention and the booth he has set-up is funny as he sets small fires all the time as his demonstration.
FIRE, FIRE, FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Yeah, what did Fountain bring? Powerquest? Baja? Formula? what go-fast's did they have at the show?
|
Arn't you going down tonight HP? If not, are you going down tomorrow? We are too... 262-243-9663

Fountain had the 42 and 29 along with 38 express. Nortech had the 38 cat and powerquest had a razor. I was surprised no sonic or Checkmate.
The new sunsation 32 with center steering was also on display. |
Any Cigs?
|
Cord, your right, but somehow I am still sitting in my office
Weekend traffic at those shows is crazy so I might just pass this year....TAKE YOUR CAMERA |
Rodger wilco...don't forget the COPS party is Saturday...
|
Decent show, but not great. It's still nice to get out of the cold and snow of winter and sniff the new vinyl and figerglass. No Cigs, Sonics, Checks etc- the performance end was a little thin.
Usual display of Bajas, Formulas, Sunsation, Envision, Black Thunder, & Powerquests (Rod Dash is there with Powerquest- always a true gentleman!). Saw Wyatt Fountain with a couple of nice boats at their display (29 and 42, along with a 38 Super Cruiser). It was nice to visit with Marc Blondin (boatme) and see the Nor-Tech- impressive boat with NA power. Unless the spec sheet was printed wrong, I was curious to the very smallish 100 gallon tank in a twin BBC-equipped Sunsation. You can go offshore, but you ain't comin' back............... Oh- and BTW, no Apaches..........;) :p :D Jim |

Our new local Fountain dealer, Shogren Performance Marine, had a nice display. Scott Shogren and Keivin Mulvaney took the time to show us all the new features on Fountains these days. I just wish they hadn't showed my wife the 38' express crusier.:( :( Yes she really liked it!!!!! 63 mph with two 496's is impressive. I'll look great in one of those when I'm 80.:D

Everyone is invited to the COPS party Saturday night. Reggie and Wyatt are the guest speakers.
|
What boat is that in post 13?
|
Cuda,
It's a Sunsation Innovator with a MitcherT paint job. Rodger1 was showing the boat and could give you more details. Dan |
That's also the boat where the spec sheet said it has a 100 gallon fuel cell. Couldn't find Dennis to ask him if that was true or not:eek:
|
Looks like fountian FINALLY ran out of dune buggy steering wheels...thank God!!!!

Here's an interesting one....I'm not familiar with ProCharger but this was pretty slick.....these are in the new 38 Eliminator Eagle (v-bottom). They are not your standard 500EFIs....custom model M-4 prochargers with intercoolers combined to make a 1000HP model. Motors are built in Indiana but not sure where or who. Takes the 38 to 104 I think is what I heard.
