I agree with Audacity. If you don't care about a cabin, I would buy a Donzi without one... (Donzi 38ZR)

250k opens up to just about whatever you want...

Sticking to your two boats you list(Donzi and Fountain)
and you dont want or need a cabin....

Donzi 38 zr hands down

That makes it much easier, just get a 36' Skater and blow them all away.

As you stated your desires, then it sounds like Fountain is the boat for you. They're really two different kinds of boats for two different kinds of people. Hey!! I think I just solved everyones problem with choosing/defending different boats....

looking to buy my first upper echelon boat and am looking for opinions thanks.......currently have a 25' Cobalt and looking for something bigger/faster
want the fastest I can get (most hp) in that size class
no one else has said it so i will... the fastest you can afford for a used 250k boat may be to much boat

lets all look at the bonefish founders accident thread again... and he was experienced

a used 38ZR would make a nice boat.. but keep in mind on those boat you can only set down.. now if you are looking for more of a pleasure craft a 38ZX would be the one to go with.. full stand-ups...
