Default Florida Keys here we come - help needed

Hi!

We are a Norwegian couple travelling to Florida Keys. We have decided to stay in Marathon. We want a relative quiet place for margaritas and boating, and but not so far from the partytime at Key West. Any tip about the place and where to stay will be appreciated.

We will be travelling mid April and stay for 10 days. Is there any pokerrun around that time? We are more than happy to register as members to join a pokerun and experience the nice US powerboats. We have 28 years boating experience - both at low and high speed (kayak... and 28 Skater w/twin 2.5's)!

Look forward to hearing back from you.

Cheeers,

Toffen & Heidi

A nice place to stay, though not in Marathon, is the Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada. It's about 20 miles from Marathon. Also take a look at Hawk's Cay Resort, which is closer to Marathon.

Florida Powerboat Club has a run to the Keys over Easter weekend.

Make sure to take a day to go to Key West. It is a unique place, though definitely NOT quiet. Take the tourist "Conch train" once you get there to help you get a feel for the island.

There are many fun little bars and restaurants in the Keys. Discovering them is part of the fun.

Enjoy!!!

We like Hawk's Cay on Duck Key (just north of Marathon). We will be there during the week of April 18th. I also hear good things about Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada.

I agree with Cheeca and Hawks Cay. My folks have a house down there and we've been going since I was a kid. If you really want Marathon, stay at Faro Blanco Marine resort. It's about the nicest you're gonna get. E mail me @ [email protected] or call me @ 305 378 7759 if you need more info about Marathon. By the way, make sure you have dinner at "The Quay" at least one night while in Marathon.
