Default Plans for 6x9 speaker enclosure?

I am getting ready to install an MP3 player in the kids boat. I would like to install 6x9 speakers in a movable enclosure. That way they can set them up on the sun-pad or locate them on the floor etc. I plan to design a bracket where they can move them to one of several location and just plug them in. This way they can point them back for skiing or hanging out on the shore, move them to the front for more storage space when packing for camping or room for passengers etc.

The boxes should sit with the speakers about 30 degrees off vertical, sort of pointing up a little. Does anyone have plans for 6x9 boxes? Are there any general rules for volume of the box, size of ports if any etc?

Looks nice, I ain't buying everything for those kids though! Their boat and associated cost have already cut into my garage and upgrade funds. I already have speakers so I just need the dimensions for the enclosure.

put them both in the same box with 1.5 cuft with a 10 sqin port 10 in long. should tune them around 80 hz.

if you want to be creative and get a good lower tunning, build a box that is 1.5 put both drivers in it and a 2" dia port 5" long going out and put a box on the side of that one with a 2" dia port 5" long connecting the two boxes and put another 2" dia port 5" long comming out of that one. will tune them to 40 hz.

If you didn't want to do the ported route you could also go down to your local stereo shop and check to see if they have any in stock already made, if not they could get them for ya. Or build to BYC's specs to get a good sound from them. If so hit him up for the calculations to figure airspace.

Go buy a pair of boxes already made. Resin coat them and recover the boxes it will save you a lot of time.

Go buy them already made. They even have them with that grey carpet/fabric stuff around them.
