Ron I have emailed you and Philippe Fretel offering assistance if needed for the Virginia Beach leg/stop. Just let me know if it's needed...

Ron-based on the results would they be interested in this? (scroll down to the end)

Longest leg is only 300 Miles that does not take the gas engines out of the equation at all.

The diesel powered record SF-LA was broken last year but the time elapsed record is still held by a gas engine and that is something around 400 miles I think in the Pacific no less.

Ron - also sent an e-mail to you and Phillipe F. about vounteering for the A/C stop.

Glad to see it finally happened. Understandably an even to this magnitudes will require a lot of money to put on. I'd just hate to see this turn into a "reality TV" deal, where the producers make most of the money.

Just my opinion...

Entry Fee: $10,000 discounted rate for the first 20 entrants accepted. $20,000 entry fee for all additional entrants.

$10,000 x 20 = $200,000
$20,000 x 10 = $200,000

total = $400,000

Will the registration deposits be held in escrow?

Is there some assurances that monies will be returned if the race doesn't take place as planned?

20 boats at 20,000 = $400,000
10 boats at 10,000 = $100,000
________
Total Entry Fee = $ 500,000

Payout to racers =$200,000

That leaves $300,000 for the organization of the event from the racers alone. I assume they plan to sell sponsorships, videos, T-shirts and anything else that might generate a buck?

I love the idea, but I think the purse is weak considering the entry fees collected.
