Default Stryker boats ?

Hey guys anyone hear of Stryker Boats ? Made from 1985 til 1998 .. I found a 29 that I was trying to buy and someone bought it before I could get down to see it ....They were built in Huntsville Alabama ....I have tried to find another one but not able to locate one .... I was told that most of them were shipped to Japan . If anyone knows about one anywhere in any condition I would appreciate the info .... Mike .. Jax Fla

Offthefront,

Shipped to Japan ?

Is the boat in pic the one you were going to buy? Looks good! It's tough to tell until it's on the water.

I have a 29' Mach 1 Endeavor a similar situation where the builder is no longer around. The boat is rock solid and is built like a tank runs close to 70.

It's being redone right now by STS High Performance and I wouldn't trade it for a new boat of similar style.
I looked last fall and found most to have bad glass and poor workmanship I would be pis*ing my money away.

Over the next few years I will invest in a larger boat 40ish feet but will not buy new... I will get a boat that been worked on from a member here at OSO... You know what your getting.

All the usual suspects : CIG - BAJA - FOUNTAIN - Formula - Etc... are consistent and hold value but you have the same boat as every other person on the water... If you want to make yours better you need to spend a ton of cash...

Sorry to get on my SOAP BOX ...

Sometimes it's not all bad to own a no name boat....

Good Luck finding yours.

Brad

I had 94 Stryker 22 ft Stealth with a 502 efi/Blackhawk drive, bought it new and it was a great boat for the money! Ran 85-86 all day long bone stock. Sold it 98 and bought a Fountain, man I miss that boat! But I do love my Fountain

A friend of mine has a 1995 38 Thunder made by Stryker. We just repowered it with 500HP's. The boat always performed well especiall in the rough stuff!

I have a 38 Thunder and I used to own part of the company. It is out of business now....to much money spent on R&D and no advertising dollers. The 28 is pulled off of an old sleekcraft hull...it is the exact same hull as a 28 Nordic. The nordic has a little different top deck. A 28 with single 750 to 800 HP will run in the low 90's all day long. I have had my 38 for 9 years now and before the stepped hull generation...hp for hp it was the fastest big boat around. Don Brooks...founder of the company went heads up with Reggie Fountain in a 38 in 1994 and blistered him with the same motors. The 38 does not really break loose till you get it in a about a 3' chop. If you can find a clean 28....get it...I have another friend who is looking for one also down in Alabama. I tried to attach a pic but the file was too big.

I did the same thing but my stryker was a 1993 22ft, same colors with a hood scoupe.

The boat resale really sucked.

Thats true.....resale on a boat that is out of business is not good...especially if you need to unload it quick and dont have time to find the "right" person. Thats why I snagged 2 extras of everything before we shut down!!
