Default OT..Anyone have any info on chip for C-6 CORVETTE

I am very seriously considering buying a 2005 C-6 corvette or a 2003/2004 Viper, but dont have any knowledge of any aftermarket chips or supercharger setups or if they even are available yet.Iam going to the McCORMICK PLACE in Chicago friday for the car show, maybe someone there will know, if anyone has any input i would really appreciate it.I double stacked 2 chips put a 4"exhaust , a 15gl propane tank and a aftermarket tranny in my 02Duramax/Allison and am sold on this whole hi-performance chip thing. It is alot cheaper and easier than rebuilding a motor to get big numbers out of a stock motor.

thanks
Todd

Dude,

Chipping a diesel is a whole different WORLD than a NA gas motor. There's no boost level to raise, there's no EGT limit to ignore, there's no diesel NOX emissions to completely disregard.

All you can do in a gas NA app is to give a more aggressive timing curve, change some fuel parameters, and reprogram the transmission shift points.

With that said, there will be lots of aftermarket goodies available for the C6. Nothing's available yet cause there is ONLY ONE C6 in the world right now. Makes it hard to cut and fit your aftermarket accessories for it.

The C-6 will not be out until at least September, Do not expect to see any chips or virtually any hop-ups out until at least March of next year, 6 months after general availability.

I LOVE the way the C-6 has evolved, but if I were you, I would wait for the return of the Z06 in 2006 if you want supercar performance. Pick up a hopped up C-5 in the mean time.
