In my opinion Adaware is still the best at getting rid of the known programs that are causing most of the popups. Free version along with professional versions @ Lavasofts site.

right on, these are the best for pop-ups and spyware and both are free. there is not a free solution for spam that I am aware of yet. However if you are a MS Office user, upgrade to 2003. Outlook does a decent job of adding items to its junk mail folder. Its reported that it "learns".
