WARNING !! WHo has a winter front cover on their truck ?
 

Guys put them on the front of the truck in the winter to keep the engine temps up ,or just because they look cool ! :rolleyes: (Personaly I've never seen a truck of mine that needed one for temp reasons .)

I just had a newer ford diesel in here putting a performance package on it . When I opened the hood I found the air box all distorted and the "filter minder" sucked all the way out and broken !! :eek: I thought to my self ,his filter must be completely clogged . When I looked, it was brand new K&N filter .

Then I saw it ! He has the winter front enclosure on the grill . Well this style ford sucks air directly from behind the grill . He had completely blocked all the air flow to the engine !!:eek: There was such a vacuum from the engine that it damaged the air box !!! He is VERY lucky he didn't ruin the turbo ! HE then told me he added the K&N filter and the winter front at the same time and the truck had NO POWER !.............

I have seen guys ruin turbos from not enough air flow . It puts too much pressure on the turbo and burns it up .

SO , keep your air filter clean,
Use a good high flow filter ,
And don't cover up the only source of air your truck has !
