Did Criscraft make a 38' Excalliber in 1994?

My brother in-law is looking a a 38' boat. He does not know much about them. He told me it is a 1994 38' Criscraft Excaliber. Could it be a Criscraft or did only Wellcraft make an Excaliber?

From what he told me it has brand new 454's, new drives, still in the box but he did not know what kind.

Price is $15,000, but he did not take a close look. Boat is outside covered in snow.

What should we look for when we do a closer inspection?

Thanks

I am not positive but I think it would have been a Wellcraft Excalibur,....which is more like an express cruiser.....Fred

Price also looks too good to believe.....new motors and drives alone would cover the 15k.....Fred

Wellcraft bought the rights to the excalibur name. I also agree with Fred sounds to good to be be true. I also think that Chris quit bulilding the stingers before '94

Sure It's Not A 1984 Chris-Craft Excalibur?

Then the price would be more believable. CC built a 39' with a 9 ' beam model back then, which later became the 42' with a new deck mold with a molded in platform. They then started calling them "Stingers". Even as a "Kit" Boat(project), it sounds kinda cheap. Ed

I have not seen it yet. My brother in-law is not much for details:rolleyes: . I might have a chance next week to go see it. But he did say it was a 1994.

mpally 02-07-2004 10:17 PM

Maybe it was redone in 94.

There was a 39 Chris Stinger named Excaliber (sp) in Michigan. It was white/blue. But not a 94. It sold in the early 90's and have not seen it since.
