Get the one you like the best. I had the exact same choice a few months ago and i chose the 2004 Fountain Executioner. Both were nice boats but i just like the looks of the Fountain better. I did a lot of research on both boats and found them both to be good quality and it came down to personal preference. I believe the Fountain is faster also with the same engine package. Good Luck with your purchase............If you have any questions about the ex, pm me and i'll give you my #.

You need to water test both boats in conditions as close to what you boat in. I had a 35 Fountain and loved it, we boated with a friend who has a 38 formula. Dont know about the 35 Formula, but the 38 was a totally different animal. Both are great choices, comes down to what is important to you. The best way to find out is in the water.

I like Formula, wife likes Fountain. She says Fountains look "slutty" the way they sqaut in the water with the beak up high.

I don't think you can beat Formula customer service though, Formula is a really good company. I like Fountains too though.

"Slutty"............... She coined that one about five years ago, that still kills me!! It's so appropriate, so fitting, so complimentary!

I guess if we get a new Fountain we'll have to name it "SLUT". Wonder how the wife would like that name:D

Take each one out in the type of water you would normally run and decide for yourself. It basically comes to what is more important, top end or comfort?

J-BOAT 02-08-2004 08:33 PM

I can think of worse decisions to be in the middle of.
I think both would be great boats.
Good luck.

Who cares what anyone on here says. What 1 do you really want? :eureka:

R Addiction 02-08-2004 09:14 PM

35 ft Ex is actually 33 feet long. The formula is more towards comfort (wifey might dig this and give you more wave action). I like the Formula my self but then again ....I'm not payin' for it!! :p

Need more info. What kinda water are you in? Plan on towing it? What are you in now? What do you like better? Speed or Amenities?

I'd go for the one with a microwave in it that goes fast :D :D :D :D

In other words...
The Formula

Try talking to Monte Howerton, west coast Fountain rep. He has a new 35 Ex available at a little better price (he quoted me at LA boat show). he's at 612-490-3549.

I'm with Thirdbird the Fountian is a bad ass looking boat in the water, just has that racey look, on the other hand the formula looks like a big run-about,with the big windshield and tall deck.

But that look also has a much more functional cabin, fountain just ok.

Go for the ride and get in the cabin check it all out, thats alot of money to spend to find out later you bought the wrong boat.

Good luck.

Shoot why not get an Outer Limits?
