It Was 40 Years Ago Today, that......

that Sgt. Pepper and the boys began to play,
in the good ole U.S. of A.....

I remember it like it was this morning.

Col. Parker and Elvis sent a telegram congratulating them and wishing them success that Ed Sullivan read before the second set that first night.

When "Beatles 65" came out, you really began to believe they were different.

Then "Revolver" and "Rubber Soul"

For better or for worse, music today is the result of, and only of, one band, THE BEATLES!!!!!

LONG LIVE JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE, AND RINGO.
In our minds and in our ears......................

Damn, I remember watching them on Ed Sullivan, on our B&W TV set. We didn't have a color one back then.

my sister had a couple of the first 45's the beatles put out. she would listen to them over and over again on an old record player

my brother got sent home from school cuz his hair was to long.

things sure have changed.

I fell asleep last night with the Grammys on and just the sound of her trying to talk woke me up. I don't know why Paul & Ringo have had her taken out yet:D

Ouch, for that comment, though I suppoose it's true, you have to listen to her sing two songs.

What the hell are you guys talkin' about?...

:p :D

Nick, a long long long time ago, in a land far far away, there were these four young lads from Liverpool, England who changed the course of history in music. Though originally named "the Silver Beatles", it was eventually shortend to simply, "The Beatles". This was back in the days you could actually not only hear, but understand the lyrics. You might get some info on them in a museum or the internet. They debuted in America on the Ed Sullivan show (black and white TV's, I told you this was a long time ago, back in the days of only three channels, NBC, CBS, and ABC). :D :D :D :D

Ahhhh...those guys. I think I may have seen a black and white picture of them some where, some time ago. ;) :)
