I heard that the original hull was damaged and that Mark McMannus built a new hull for it. Hence the ''98'' designation.

The weight difference isn't that great. With 3 525's in a BT the weights would be close but the BT would run upper 70's. It's a faster hull. Not that I meen to start an argument about which hull is the best, but if you're bargain hunting for a pleasure boat this Apache is imho not a good choice. To make this boat run well would take too much money. There's another 47 with 3 900's and a nice paint job in Boat Trader for 185,000 that looks like a better deal.
