Another World Record Set for V Bottoms!
Not wanting to be outdone by others I decided to go out and try my hand at breaking the V Bottom World Speed Record. In my first pass I ran a staggering 165MPH to set a new world record. However:
1. No one outside of my boat was present to even witness the attempt 2. The attempt wasn't run over a surveyed course. 3. No independent scanning equipment was used to verify my speed. 4. No scanner operators, no timers, and no official scorers and independent judges were present - as is the norm when making such attempts. 5. There was no independent sanctioning body to witness the attempt much less to verify my speed claim - unless you count bubba, my co-pilot. 6. And yes, I've been kind of busy so although I made my world record breaking run almost a week ago, I didn't get around to telling anyone about it until today. Hey, I'm a very busy man and it didnt cross my mind as being that important. Do you believe me? NO! Then why would you believe anyone who made such a claim under similar circumstances? |

Waaa waaa waaa...
GET OVER IT!:eureka: |
get your facts straight, and your bayliner doesn't run that fast. that's in stone.
|
averaged 161.29 MPH for a kilometer verified on
> "state of the art" GPS in his new 47' canopied model named, "XXX". That's from their own press release - |
And what's wrong with Bayliners :)
|
boy you are good at misinterpretation. you are twisting things wayyyyyyyyy out of proportion dude.
now you are way out on a limb. |
The OL run doesn't sound like a valid verified sanctioned independent speed record to me....but what do I know.
|
Actually, it is not a press release from Outerlimits...it's from an independent poker run promotor who, by the way, was racing boats in Key West 20+ years ago against Reggie, Ben Kramer, Don Aronow, etc. In fact, he owns the #1 hull Executioner, the first one Reggie built.
I have personally known Billy Frenz for over 25 years. He has no reason to make an inaccurate statement concerning his ride with Mike in the 47'. When he called me his comment was "I felt like I was sitting in my living room". |
hey nortie! if what a lot of the ya-hoos on this board were saying were true, i'd agree with you. unfortunately, they are acting like sore losers or something and are twisting the facts as to what or how OL did or didn't do things and they don't even have all the facts.
what ever. i'm not going to beat my head against a wall for it. this guy is going to see what ever it is that he wants to see, not what or how it really happened. now, i'll see you tomorrow right? :D :doggy: |

The outerlimits press release states: averaged 161.29 MPH for a kilometer verified on
> "state of the art" GPS in his new 47' canopied model named, "XXX". and - This run was > confirmed by co-pilot, Billy Frenz, Executive Director of the NPBA. It says nothing about anyone outside the boat timing them or witnessing the event? . According to their own press release, two guys went out in a boat and saw 161 mph on their gps and are now claiming they own a new world record. Show me what facts I have twisted. |
what is the point.....?why is everyone up in arms only a few and i meana few will ever buy a new ol even so why be concerned who's is faster at those speeds:rolleyes:

Reggie seems to have done his the legit way and o.l. seems to be FOS... |
EXACTLY Chris - Using the OL method, ANYONE could go out in their boat and CLAIM to have set a new world record. If you want to believe them, fine. But most people want more proof. Especially when someone is claiming a new world record.
I'm not saying they didn't run that speed, but geez, offer some credible proof that you did it before making such an important claim. |

[/B] like i already said, i'm not going to expel anymore effort on it. you're going to read into it what ever you want apparently. it just doesn't have anything to do with the truth. knock yourself out. |
Originally posted by Blonde Cig Chick hey nortie! ...............now, i'll see you tomorrow right? :D :doggy: Yeah.....the only speed I'm gonna be worried about tomorrow or the following days is how fast the bar tender is with getting our drinks to the table while sitting on the sidewalk at the Cleavlander!!!! Sanctioned or not, I want them to haul ass to the table! :D :D :D Oh....and what was the frufru drink that had the 151 rum floater on top? |
amen, i agree. i have no idea, but it sounds really good! aahh.........next!
|
The Miami Show should be fascinating. . . . how close together are the Fountain and Outerlimits displays?
Will Reggie and Mike be having a beer together? Sharing an ice-cream soda with two straws like 'Lady and the Tramp'?. . . talking marketing strategy and the advancement of the sport? . . . giving each other 'noogies'? . . . this should be REAL interesting. |
>oh and one more thing......OL does have credible proof. if they didn't mike would not have made the public statements he did. you keep missing that part. hmmmm.>
If there is other proof, somebody show it already - or is the public just suppose to "have faith" that they really did it? |
Yuuall gotta love this stuff. How do you say that you all thing anyway ?
|
Bubba and I just bumped the record up to 167MPH!!!
This is sooo much easier without all those meddlesome officials demanding that you meet those cumbersome standards and verifying that you actually set an official record. Someone should have thought about this approach a long time ago - if they had, the V Bottom record would be in excess of 300MPH by now. |
to you and bubba....
do you pitch or catch? you were bumpin' what? oops, sorry i got confused as to what this was about. as i was saying... "Show me what facts I have twisted." (as you stated) the answer is...........you conveniently left out the beginning of the first line that you keep quoting (you know...the first line of the press release). the parts that you keep deleting is where it clearly states (at least for for the rest of us) that it was a "certified and sanctioned" run. ok, now i trust that you will go back to your cry baby tactics. your volley......... |
Certified and sanctioned by whom? NPA certified the run? Do the normally sanction races and kilo runs? Other than the GPS what credible timing equipment was used.
|
"certified and sanctioned" by the co-pilot using an on-board GPS system. You can't expect anyone who knows anything about setting world records to accept that BS. Hell, if that's the case then Bubba will gladly certify my 167MPH run.
I stand by what "their" press release says: According to it, no one outside of that boat is in any position to back up their claims; also, accoriding to that press release- they have no other device than their own on-board gps on which to base their claim. Again, if that's all they have to back their claim of a new world recored, then I say it's a bush-league BS stunt and I never expected someone with the reputation of Outerlimits to try and pull this. |
Originally posted by Chris232 obviously, its about BRAGGING RIGHTS !! Reggie seems to have done his the legit way and o.l. seems to be FOS... not rip'n on you for the comment chris. just thought i would toss my .02 cents in the fray :D :D |
"to you and bubba....
do you pitch or catch? you were bumpin' what? oops, sorry i got confused as to what this was about." rude, tasteless and has nothing to do with the topic that we are discussing. |
oh geez, i'm laughing so hard. dude, don't get your panties in such a bunch. this is a riot anymore. you take yourself soooooooo seriously. this whole issue your making is so rediculous, it got entertaining a long time ago. relax! oh no, you know what that is right?
sure it was off topic, that's what's so funny. LOL |
