Bahamas help
I'm considering a quick 5 day vacation at the end of april. It's going to be a surprise b-day for the wife. Anyone been there lately? Any place better than others, looking at sheratons, ect... The wife is a sun worshipper and will be on the beach from day 1-5. Any condo owners on the board ? Boston is getting warmer?? Says who!!!

Stayed at the Atlantis last year very nice, but you won't win at the Casinos.
Yea the grand was where I was looking. Air+Hotel packages were pretty good prices. I'll look into it more tonight. The casinos will be safe!!
I went to Atlantis in the spring and could not ask for anything better, you will pay more but the resort is top notch. If you are planning on staying on the resort the entire time, that is the one. It is away from all the locals except the one thats work there. The yachts in the harbor are outstanding. Would highly recomend going. Looking for an excuse to go back so soon.

You can not go wrong with Atlantis. Three different hotels to fit your wallet all in the same complex. Casino, upscale shopping, water sports, Bars and the best selections of Cubans I've ever seen. And the harbor is so impressive, I could have looked at the boats for a day. I can't wait to go back myself!:)

They are telling the truth about atlantis,go for it!! tripps

All of the hotels in the Lucaya area of Freeport, Grand Bahama have been recently opened or redone. The new casino there opened last month. That area gives you alot to do in regards to shopping, dining, diving, beaching etc. Price wise, there are alot more dining/driniking options than Atlantis. Also not far from that area are some really neat beach excursions and eco- tours that are not offered in Atlantis.
Thanks for all the input. I checked on the atlantis. That looks good. watersports??? Do they rent anything with big blocks???
No, I think in Freeport the biggest thing that you can rent is a 17' Whaler with 70hp. Watersports in the Lucaya area of Freeport are great. There is a dive club in the area with great shark dives, wreck dives, dolphin dives etc. and then of course all of your hotels have your jet skis, sail boats, parasailing etc. There is also a fishing fleet in that area and quite afew sailboat/ glass bottom boat tours/ booze cruises in that area.
Atlantis, they have a 40 foot Cat with 4 200's that will take you around the island, its called Thriller
In Lucaya, deal with Reef Tours for boat rentals. They have clean equipment there.
Hey Scott, they changed the Thriller,i thinkj its 50 ft now and has diesels, not to expensive for a nice trip for 2 hours, they also have a all day cruise on a 39 centerconsole with 3 ob's,they supply food and drinks, but i never leave home without some backup supplies :D :D :D I t ,hinkj its 200 for a adult,100 for kids,i was gonna do it but if the seas are to rough they don't go out cause they go 50 miles to some private island, book early cause they cater to the cruise ships, good luck Tripps
