However, I don't blame red sox management, they gave it a good run to get him but fell short with the cash. They will still have the second highest payroll in baseball and will be ranked 2nd going into the season behind the yankees. Bottom line is money! You can't compete with a 200 million dollar payroll. The Red Sox are spending 120 million and their still 80 million short.The only good side to this(if there is one) is the Red Sox will be able to sign Nomar to a long term deal and hopefully Pedro. Don't forget we also have a pitcher named Schilling and Foulke. We have a damn good line up and will see what happens this season.
