Default Miami to NY race - Looking for a Race Director

Hi,

I've been helping with the planning for the Miami to NY race and currently I'm listed as the race director but I can't really fulfill the duties because I don't live in the Miami area.

We are looking for some who lives near Miami that has experience with the logistics of running an offshore race. This includes all aspects of planning and permitting.

Please email me at [email protected] with your race bio and experience.

PS - This is a paid position.

Ron,

Is it true that the race has been postponed till 2005?

From the organizers:

We just made the decision to push the race off until 2005 in
order to give racers, sponsors and our team additional time to plan and
prepare. We were set to go with this years race but wanted to give
everyone the appropriate time needed to make year one the great race it
deserves to be. I hope you will stay in touch and consider participating in
2005. New information and dates will be on the web site in the coming
weeks.

Yes, I just got the word last night. It's been postponed until next summer. The new date will be set within a month or so.

Sorry I missed the original question.

To date, no money has been collected.

We had planned to let teams know that we had "accepted" thier application on 3/15 at that time a $3500 deposit was to be paid and placed in escrow, the balance was to be paid one month proir to the race and those funds were to be placed in escrow with the understanding if the race didn't happen the money would be fully refunded.
