Everyone get the boats tied up okay when I left?

I had Steve's OSO Glad two inches off my Sonic's stern, with another cig rafted to it, and a mint older wellcraft six inches off my bow.

I loosened the rope tying the rafted boat so that if I hit it when pushing off, it would pivot off the stern line rather than stay solid and have me punch a huge hole n it.

The plan worked perfectly, as the wind blew me right into the rafted boat. Hands and feet prevented damage to anyone, but the loose rope came off the dock and the boat pivoted so I could get out.

The guy on the older Wellcraft signalled he would retrieve the rope. Everyone okay and noone went swimming with the crocs?

Jane and I would have liked to stay later, but we were running late for our mooring slot at John Pennecamp park marina. Made it just in time.

Had a great time at all the OSO, FPC, boat show events, and it was great to meet many of you. Likely will be back in April for spring break!

Plan is to cross Florida via the lake and into Naples. Anyone want to form a flotilla?

Sydwayz 02-20-2004 08:27 AM

No damage or bumps to any boats (then), although you are right, it was VERY tight. It was good to see you again CBR.

Glad to have the opportunity to have met some of you on the docks of Montys while you were waiting for the boats to arrive. It looks like you had a fantastic time.
It was real easy getting dropped off by the shuttle bus driver to get to Montys, getting picked back up by one was another story:( Finally just flagged a cab down and they took us to the Marriott.

you guys are so spoiled, here is what I was doing this Sunday

Nauti Kitty 02-23-2004 06:47 PM

Craig and his wife, biggus, glh, lucky strike & jr, sydwayz, cigarette 1, and everyone else I met on that trip were great. Very enjoyable day. It's very fun to put names with faces and all shoot the sh#t about boats. All three rides I went with on sat were great, looking forward to next year. I think we may have the beginnings of a tradition, hmmmm? Can anyone remember everglades marina poker run 1993?

BTW JM My speaker temp gauges were redlined all week. Just goes to show the decibels of a 950 will win everytime. :) NK

Hey Parnell,

On Sat. around 10:35 AM you were on 441 and you went by a HUGE Ford dealer...Next to that was a little used Mercedes dealer. That was US!! You can see the boat in the background going down the street. Great meeting you, and your boat is sick!!!

LS JR.

Nauti Kitty 02-23-2004 07:55 PM

Thanks Bobby and nice meeting you and your dad also. BTW Quick on the shudder. ;) NK

I remember your place cause I went down that road about 10 times in the last two weeks. Do you have a SL55 amg with the towing package? Let me know. :p

lucky strike 02-23-2004 08:03 PM

Yeah...2 of them actually .

1) White - AMG wheels -
2) Black - AMG wheels -

TOW package of course ;)

Man, that was a fun weekend! :D

Parnell, your new boat looks incredible. I hope all went well! How many hours did you rack up over the last 2 weeks???

Great to see the old friends and meet some new friends!

I'll see you next year for sure!

Kurt

Nauti Kitty 02-24-2004 09:54 AM

You too Curt. She ran flawlessly for 13 hours. I now have over thirty somewhat hard hours on her. It's just breaking in. Looking forward to next year already. NK:D :D :D

BARCOASTAL 02-24-2004 10:04 AM

What was the smallest boat that made the trip?

Nauti Kitty 02-24-2004 07:02 PM

OSO Steve's 36 Gladiator
GLH 42 Tiger
Cigarette 1 Gary's 38 Top Gun
Mine

No one really poked along. :)

BobbyB 02-24-2004 07:36 PM

Do you guys think a little 27 fountain could do this run next year? I am thinking about taking my boat to florida for the winter next fall.

No problem. My first fpc run featured two drunks in a 22 donzi. Those guys had a riot. One of the best looking girls I ever saw on a run was on a 27 fountain 7 years ago. It's really good way to make freinds, bringing a hottie or two. We would love to have you along, just don't get sucked down the front of a 50 nortech.:o

Fountain38SC 02-25-2004 10:14 AM

I can't take the cold anymore! I'm going to Lauderdale in the AM and the keys for a long weekend.

:eureka: :D

CBR 02-25-2004 07:06 PM

I think I was the smallest, a 30 Sonic SS. Cruised at about fifty down to Gilberts. Prior to entering the Featherbeds?? channel, I slowed down to let the fast guys scream by me. Got some okay film of them as a result.

It wax great to meet everbody, despite having one of the slowest boats (2 scorpions). Hey, it is still Hyperfishing speed!
<gg>

BobbyB 02-25-2004 09:22 PM

Nauti Kitty,
Thanks for the info. I am going to try and do this run next year.
