WOW!!!! I'm impressed! I for one have always shy ed away fro boats with a TRS on them but now with this upgrade available it opens alot of doors. Kurt now all BS aside what did it cost?

Biggus 04-19-2004 06:58 AM

I agree with you dyno, some people have shy'd away from TRS boats but now with the 540 conversion kit available, all the TRS boats have increased in value :D

Pricing for the TRS conversion is less than 9k

I elected to go with the complete drive and transom assembly as mine were original and somewhat tired. The entire drive/transom assembly package is 12k retail.

Great to hear that the conversion went so well. I was surprised to hear that you gained speed with the larger gears, more oil, and overall more weight.

When I spoke with Ken Konrad 2 years ago, he also stated that you can get the drive in any color you want, and that you could get the lower part of the drive either polished or powdercoated in silver.

They really work hard to please the customer.

I was looking at the drive for a new boat application, due to this manufacturer busting drives all the time (big boat and a lot of weight). The builder would not go with the drive and this (along with many other issues) made me drop the builder and get out of the deal. THis is a builder that wants to put on XRs and let Mercury deal with the broken pieces.

Keep us posted on the status of the drive through the summer!

Awesome Kurt. Glad to hear everything went well.
It's nice to know we have an option for the TRS's.

Now let me see how I can get a set of those for my 40th. Birthday. (is my wife lurking);)

Keep us up to date over the summer.

Mark
