Skidoo sled guys..

Does anyone know, who or where I can find big bore kits for a 2002 800 mxz ski doo. Do they even make them?.

Thanks

Travis

p.s...sorry its not about boats, but dammit I need a faster sled :D

33daytona_BWF 02-22-2004 11:32 AM

I would start buying an arctic cat but union bay racing is probablyt your best choice they are a proven winner on the track

I would start by not buying an Arctic Cat. Then I would call Don Emery @ DNE Performance (705)487-3689. He is north of Toronto, not too far from you. His engine work is top notch and he'll tell you what works and what doesn't. You'll need to do your own clutch work, his isn't that great IMO. Remember, the trail and the track are 2 completely different things. Don't ruin a perfectly good ride.

blownincome 02-22-2004 03:13 PM

Travis ..
Call Chuck Dasilva at Dasilva motor sports in Moultonboro NH Will Get # for you ...He can Tell ya all ya need to know..
Bob

traviss 02-22-2004 04:13 PM

thank ya guys :D

Maybe I could snatch one of those new 1000cc motors coming out from ski doo :D

Cord 02-22-2004 09:13 PM

Hey, traviss...I might have a sled that you'd be really interested in...it's a former race sled. The thing is really sick. I guess the guy goes out and buys a new 20k sled every year. This one is for sale for around 10k. It is totally built up using Ski-doo parts on the REV chassis. The engine was even built by Ski-doo so you know that it was done right. I'm told it makes around 180hp! It has a 2" picked track that looks really sick. It has a playback pyro. Hi-lo hand warmers. A race seat. 6" rise handle bars. A built clutch. A custom tunnel. I'm sure the list goes on, but those were the things I noticed.

Reed Jensen 02-22-2004 10:16 PM

Ditch Pickle??? what is a ditch pickle??? and what are you guys doing on those "up north" machines anyway? Trying to get frostbite?:D

DITCH PICKLE.... I HAVE A DITCH PICKLE.:hothead:

Last time I wanted to go fast I just called Hooper, turned my ZRT800 into a 1050. run great on pump Gas and put out around 220 hp. this sled had unbelievable top end and run a low 5 second on grass in 500 feet.
a good friend of mine bought the sled and has put tons of miles on it in Canada.
we have seen yellow and black but that was always when we were passing wasn't sure if its was SKI Doo or not...
seriously we have alot of revs on our Lake but they are mostly owned by Women who don't like to feel the bumps, but I feel you need speed to feel a bump.

switch once bought the Viper when it came out. put a hawlk venom kit in it. it had speed but the supension sucked...

thought about buying a rev but bought the ZR900 very happy with the sled nice suspension.

there is a few guys in our area not sure who does there engines but they have awesome Ski Doo drag sleds.
one guys sleds are ungodly he has different drivers. and does low 4's in 500 grass and not sure what he's 660 is on ICE. but he comes out just to show off he will actually tow he sled down to the drag strip so the studs never touch the ground until the ice.....

Is there a translation program for this??? I don't know if it is English... or Canuck? can someone translate??? :eureka:

MitchStellin 02-22-2004 11:51 PM

Hey R, I was really thinking of the ZR 900 for next year or an F9 if they make one. The T Cat should hit 10,000 miles this season and the susp is wipped, even after rebuilding it this year. it is a 2000 so they are not too different but I need less weight.

BURNSMAZZ 02-23-2004 04:19 AM

Crank Shop or Union Bay

jaf302 02-23-2004 05:14 AM

R, running a "ditch pickle" 1050 myself, built it from stuff laying around Arctic Adventures shop.Like you said, runs very well!!!! Got a couple of 1108 Hooper kits and last years Pro stock chassis, have to try asphalt this year!! The entire shop crew is going to Old Forge this weekend, Bring them Skippy Doos out on the lake!!:D :D

let us know how the weekend was it should be some good riding. I have done anything to the 900 yet buy am thinking about it for next year.

Rforsey 02-23-2004 07:51 AM

Mitchstellin,
the 2000 T is what I had before I bought the Viper, it was lighter then the old ZR T and we mostly rode in Canada so it was smooth and Flat. there is a big difference in the 900 suspension it is an awesome ride like riding a 98 or 99 ZR 600 with alot more power handles really well in the corners and is alot lighter then the T
we thought about the F7 our selfs because in the drag they are right there with us depends who gets the hole shot. and alot of the time that is with Kell even on the back. on the F7 everyone tells me that they are tipsy in the corners and are really light. I like a little more weight because Kell rides with me and I like the extra handling and weight for the corner's..
either way you can't go wrong.

blownincome 02-23-2004 10:01 AM

Travis..
the number to call is 603-253-6688 this guy has been a force to recon with in the grass drags knows the tricks to make a real go fast sled... again his name is Chuck Dasilvia
hope this helps
Bob

MitchStellin 02-23-2004 12:20 PM

Thanks R, I just think the front is too heavy and it is killing me. I like the new ride position of the REV and I hear Polaris is also introducing one in 05 so I am leaving it all open. I stopped buying AC clothing and have a Riema jacket and bibs so I can switch teams if I want. I just don't want to pay 10gs for a new sled.

Cord 02-23-2004 12:41 PM

Mitch-I saw a brochure from Polaris on their new "REV" copy. The sled looked just like a Ski-Doo, just in Polaris colors. Even if the system doesn't work, everybody will be copying it. If they don't, in a year or two, their sleds will look out of date.

Reed Jensen 02-23-2004 12:45 PM

what the hell is a "ditch pickle"?

Cord 02-23-2004 12:59 PM

Oh, Reed, we could answer your questions, but you're from LA so what's the point? :D

509 SC 02-23-2004 09:27 PM

Rumor has it that Ski Doo is coming out with a 1000 Rev for next year in a 2 cylinder. I run a 2002 MXZ X 800 also, it could be quicker but it's a gas and go machine! Things are changing so fast in the market that you hate to spend $9000 on a new sled only to find it's obsolete next year. It sure is a bargain compaired to boats though!!! Steve

Roflmao..... ok.... got me there.... so it never snows here... maybe it's because I came from where it snows all the time that I want to know what a "ditch pickle" is..... now... if I was in the "Gay area"...uhhh..... I mean the "Bay area" like Lofty is... I'd think a "ditch pickle" was a community sex toy for the ***s... :p

Rforsey 02-23-2004 09:48 PM

Reed

here's a hint...... Artic Cats signature color is Green....

one more..... what color is a pickle ???

that's it for now maybe some of the other's can help you out... with some more hints...

but work on it and lets see what you come up with:D :D

donzi matt 02-23-2004 09:49 PM

Yeah, the Mach Z 1000 is real for next year. Check maximumsled.com for the details. The thing is going to be sick.

As for your 800, do a search for the Crank Shop. I am pretty sure they have a kit ready to go for that sled.

Hope this helps

Matt

Ya, see what I mean? It's sooo freekin' obvious that only a Calilover wouldn't get it! You do get it...right? :D :p ;)

Reed Jensen 02-23-2004 10:36 PM

Calilover??? just for that... I'm sending over the "Governator" to kick your azz.... I didn't know that Arctic Cats were green.... I can't remember the last time I saw a snowmobile... maybe 15 years ago.... BUT I DO REMEMBER SKI-DOOS WERE YELLOW!!!!! A buddy of mine had a John Deere that he described as running like a "poop stain"... but that is all I know about snow machines....:p

Reed Jensen 02-23-2004 10:43 PM

Is this what you guys are riding???? I remember seeing these before... old women were riding them.... :p

Cord 02-24-2004 08:30 AM

Well you must run something other than an ARCTIC CAT, because if you did you would be smart enough to know how to spell "Arctic" ;) :D The smart people buy the Arctic Cats.:D

As far as a Ski Doo tech, try Benoit out of Vermont. He can make them go fast for at least 660 feet (but may not run after that pass though) :)

to the comment on Arctic Cat..... I will have to take the credit for that being I am the one who did the typing.
and I somehow always forget the C in Arctic . Ron has been riding Arctic cats for years....

with you being on our Lake you would think that you would be less Cocky.

my comment to you is there is a description under pruder's avatar READ IT.....

Reed Jensen 02-24-2004 10:21 AM

hahahahahaha" Speel chek thees fokker"... or something like that... :p

Who was being cocky??

I believe the winks and smilies were in there.

Hmmm...

I wasn't the one to put down a brand first. I may own Arctic Cats, but I have ridden them all. They are all good, and the different brands only serve as bar room fodder for the guys (and girls obviously) to have fun with.

And as far as the comment under "Puders" picture (yes that is Puder not "Pruder") it looks like that could be a good resource for someone....;) :D

Traviss, on a serious note call Benoit (I think that is how he spells his last name). He really does know Ski Doos. He can answer all your questions you might have. I will get the number from my cousin.
