Digital picture question
Just got a Nikon Coolpix 4300. I got a dumb question, how do I "resize" a picture to post on OSO. Is it done with the camera or the computer? I have to many bytes OSO says. Any input would be appreciated. Not really good w/ computers. But I know you guys are.

Did the camera come with a program for resizing? Olympus cameras come with "camedia"... or you can get Photosuite or Photoshop for changing the images.. OSO will resize.. but only if the picture is under 4kb... right click on the picture you want to submit... go to "properties" see what size it is.. if it is under 4kb... it will go.. if not.. you have to resize.. sorry I can't tell you any more than that..

What I generaly do is use a picture editing software to resize the image down to 420 pixles in width as required by OSO. Most of the time this will take care of your file size issues. To answer your question on Camera or Computer image size depends on the camera, amount of avalible light and file type. However the computer like i mentioned before can change all that with a program like PhotoShop, Adobe, or many others.
Hope that helped. |
Doesn't OSO have an automatic picture resizer like the other sites have???

My Olympus has a resizing feature in the camera itself once the picture has been taken. Not sure if all digital cameras do. Other wise if it is pictures already on my harddrive, I just resize using Microsofts Photoshopt that comes installed on most PC's.
