I like the stealth 150/151rims. They would be going on a new dodge ram 4x4 .just trying to decide what size? factory is 17 so should I stay with 17 or go to 18? Maybe even 20's? Just don't want/need any rubbing while turning corners

animalhouse 02-25-2004 10:00 AM

www.bozeforged.com or www.introwheels.com or www.weldracing.com

Just installed 20" weld evo series 8 lug on quadrasteer suburban.

Rchev,

I couldn't do better anywhere else.
Only trouble , they were simply polished aluminum. So since I live in the north and get salt on the roads in the winter:mad: (which causes oxidation on the aluminum) I gave them to Slingshot for some clear powdercoat;)

VEERRRY NICE,

And tempting, I would do it, but the boat needs some repairs, and I am remodeling my Kitchen, running out of money FASSSTTTT. Besides I have the nicer of the Factory Alloys, I think I will keep them til its time for some bigger tires, and maybe a small lift!!!!

When you go to 20"+ you really need to upgrade the brakes (especially for towing). So stay with 18" if you can.

I know this doesn't make sense, but the laws of physics and moving the lever farther out from the centerpoint means more force to overcome.

That's what I did too. Also went with 305-70x16 load range E Nitto Terra Grapplers.

I'll give you a little hint. Wheel size makes little or no difference:eek: . It's the overall tire diameter that comes into play. If the wheels are SO big you must increase tire size drastically then you have to worry.

You can always go to a lower-profile tire as the wheel diameter goes up. Tire/wheel houses refer to this as "plus sizing". Still, if you start of with 16" wheels and 70-profile tires, you might look a little silly with 24' wheels and 30-profile tires on a pick-em-up truck....

Da boyz in da hood might groove on it, but it'll SUCK! in the winter....

NOW your talkin my language!!!! I want to get 315's on there, have 285's now(Z-71 package), The truck is 2001, I bought last June with 19,000 miles, I commute 60 miles per day, and it now has 34,000, but tires look like new, so I'll run them for a year or so. I only plan on going with the 16's also, I like the look of the larger wheels, call me an old man, but I have had a few lifted Broncos that ran just fine on the old school 15" wheels, and 38" tires. I am beyond that huge tire lifted truck look now, but with the reg cab, and long bed, even with the offroad package it still looks too low, so if I can swing the coin, I would like to give it a few inches of lift, and what us "Old Men" would cal a 33" tire.

mopower 02-25-2004 12:21 PM

Rchev,
Mine are 33". They also had 315 but they where 75's not 70's. The diameter was 35" and I wasn't sure I could get away with it in the front when I turned. Didn't want the grief of lifting. My 350s high enough already:rolleyes:

animalhouse 02-25-2004 01:18 PM

Cap,

It is still being worked on, I went w/ a 2" lift in the front, and the air suspension actually levels the truck off in the rear. I changed the hood, front facia, added a chit load of lights, tint, stereo, gps, tv's.... You know, the usual.

I'll send some pictures when it's done. Had to go with a custom exhaust, because no kit available. True 2 1/2" dual flowmaster system. Sounds Sweeeet!
