VA GAS Refund, actually works

Thats right I found the VA road tax refund online and dug up as many gas receipts that I could find left over from last summer. Sent it in for a 16.5 cents on the gallon and they actually sent me a check:p $75,

I hope all OSO in VA and other states take the time to do this and save some $$$

WILL:p

Steve_H 02-25-2004 07:03 PM

and with gas prices getting out of hand i might be saving reciepts during winter months also  ;)

BAJA WILL 02-25-2004 07:15 PM

Just got my $395 check from them. The wife already spent it

wwwTOPDJcom 02-25-2004 09:11 PM

Does NY do this Because they have really high taxes on gas?

Reckless32 02-25-2004 11:02 PM

Virginia does it because they determined until they can figure out how to separate the gas tax (meant for road repairs/upkeep amongst other things, hence boats don't use highways) from cars to boats, they would refund the highway tax (17.5).

Cignificant I figured fairly close to that with receipts I was able to remember to keep. Problem is, it doesn't go back into the boat, it goes into the vacation slush fund...

BillR 02-26-2004 07:02 AM

I think I am getting close to $450.
Ahh, twin engines.

Rick, Just wait till your check NEXT year shows up. :D

damn $395 divided by .175, is 2257 gallons of gas

OldSchool 02-26-2004 01:49 PM

I got about $175 back last year. That's about 13.5 free cases of beer, the way I see it!!:D :D

Reckless32 02-26-2004 01:54 PM

Speaking of cases of "boat-soda's", I wonder if i could get a refund for that? Then we would be talking some REAL money....;)

I know, it hurts when you think about it. But since I get 1 mpg, it means I went 2257 miles last year. Not bad!!

Yeah, I tried to tell the bartender that too when closing out the card at the end of EACH night, but she wasn't buying it......She said I was...:(

Cig and I were talking about how much we were averaging ($$) per day/night while running around together.......We determined we must've had a REALLY good time, but we just couldn't remember why....

Getting 1 mpg... a reminder of the good old days gone by the way side unfortunately or should I say "gone by the whine side"
