Presently have a Garmin handheld, but when the wife will let me, I want a Garmin 2006-C. These are killer units. Best daytime viewing color screen out there I've seen.

Get color, so you can see it a nite. I have a Garmin 180, and other than the nite vision it is a GREAT unit. Very easy to use.

With a little creativity (and some plexiglas), you can always MAKE room for it:

Not sure what you mean by this? I have no issue seeing my black and white screen at night.

We had a Garmin 182C on our Top Gun. It was a nice unit, but if you have the room I would go to a unit with a little bit larger screen.

The Gladiator has a Raymarine. It works fine, but I liked the Garmin better.

For the Apache, we just got a Northstar 6000i. This unit absolutely blew me away! The color screen is huge for the unit size, it is easily readable in sunlight and the options are endless. It can even serve as a TV/video screen if you want. I have not run with this unit yet, but I am looking forward to it.
