Tom,
What ever size you get make sure it is a Garmin with the Blue Chart. I have had two Ray Marine units with C-Map and the Blue Chart is far better. We have two on our boat. A small 176C that works pretty well. It is not permanently mounted and we also use in in the truck. This last season I bought a Garmin 2006C and all I can say is WOW. They are big, I would have liked to have got the 2010C, but it is huge! They are crystal clear, very easy to see and to use. Most everyone has them prices around $1999.00, but you can get one at West Marine by telling them a competitor has them at a boat show cheaper. Got mine for $1700.00 + tax. Good luck |
There's an Interphase GPS in my Cigarette but I don't care for it. I use my Garmin GPS aviation handheld unit.

I also use a Garmin 162. Had nothing but good luck with it.

Garmin 182C. Haven't used it yet...Picked it up at the Miami boat show.

I run a garmin 182, but looking to upgrade to the 2006c

I have a Gramin 182C. It is not too big, so it fit nicely in the space I had for it and works great as well. I just finished making this bracket for it. I hated the plastic junk it came with. I copied the plastic one out of aluminum and had it powder coated.

The best gps ever....Garmin 2010C.........if you have the room to mount it.
BIG color screen with graphics which look exactly like a chart. Easy to read. Easy to use & you cant mess it up by pressing the wrong keys. Stay away from those Interphase electronics like Crazyhorse has, they suck the big one:p |
