God Bless them both.

We must all remember that good can come out of even the most tragic circumstances....in the form of lessons.... but only if we learn them. Let's try and make this unfortunate circumstance into an opportunity to prevent recurrences by thoroughly exploring all of the causes...and what could have perhaps prevented the outcome.

My condolences to his family...:( :( :(

From what I am told, one drive was missing...

Who knows why, from impact while running, or impact after landing...

I was also told it was a Turbine boat. Anyone confirm that?

God Bless all involved. I was talking to my neighbor and he says at least they were doing what they loved to do.

Then it was a 40 or a 46.

mpally 03-01-2004 06:11 PM

I thought it was an ITS boat. So most likely, it was turbine-powered.

Boy, this is bad news. We have dealt with ITS and Ed for about a year. It is just too sad. He will be missed.
Condolences to both men's family and friends.

Ted G 03-01-2004 06:29 PM

I have been trying to deal with this all day long. After hearing the news last night it was difficult not to share and let everyone know what a great guy Ed was. Obviously lots of people know. I have never met anyone in the industry that would spend hours answering the same questions over and over again and still seem like he was enjoying it. He loved this sport and used his considerable resources to push the envelope a little wider. He was a truly nice guy and loved all of this stuff as much as any of us. I have no idea what happened out there but I would seriously doubt it was driver error-Ed had so much seat time in tubine cats he was probably nipping at Howard's heels.

My heartfelt condolences go out to both families, may they take comfort in the fact that these guys were doing what they loved.

Now that the lump has left my throat and the tears my eyes, Deb and I want to offer both of the families our condolences. As said in a previous post, "life is fragile". All we can wish for is to be a good provider, a good friend, and make a difference in someone's life. I believe these two men did that.

ITS is an Offshoreonly Advertiser and I specifically remember dealing with Ed when he called about advertising. He was a pleasure to deal with. While I never met him in person, ot is obvious from our phone conversations and our business dealings he was a very classy person.

After reading his page on his website again this morning, while tragic, he passed doing what he had a passion for. May he rest in peace.

GLH 03-02-2004 06:55 AM

Our condolences to all involved.
