Let the wife trailer/take the boat out?

To answer the question:
YES, I would let the "wife" take the boat out by herself. She has trailered boats for me on occasion and done all right. Backing up is still being worked with. As far as handling the boat ---- let her have it. She is quite capable of handling the boat. She had a 41 Sonic when we met.
Being that the boat is 47 feet does pose a little problem when docking by yourself but with a little help she does OK.
She also owns half of the boat so she does have some say in the matter.

Yes we pulled it to the paint shop. I am very happy with the truck. Man she pulls like a dream. No more of the boat jerking the truck around.

She does it all the time and with pride

I can answer this one for myself
I am sure I could if I wanted to but choose not to.
I am such a good wife I have no desire to boat without the company of my husband or his wallet.
In case of an emergency I could get us to the dock, but there is a good chance I'd hit it
