A few facts:
Skater employs 42 people full time.
They plan to build about 32 boats this year.
Plant is 100,000 sq. feet.
There is NO sign out front that says Skater or Douglas Marine. If it weren't for the race truck in the parking lot, we might have driven right by the place.
There is a 2-3 year lead time on an new boat
They have changed the bottom of the 399 V-bottom. Added two additional lifting strakes. I was NOT allowed to take pics of this though.
There were two new race boats in the shop also. Was not allowed to take pics of these either. One was the new WHM Supercat Light.

Oops. Now that I think about it, it was a Supercat, not a lite boat. He actually let us step on the deck to look into the cockpit where an employee was grinding on the dash doing some final fitting for the gauge package. This boat will be ready in a month or so I guess. It was sitting right next to a brand new Lite... not sure who's boat that is, no name or addvertisors on it yet.
I've been thru several boat plants now, and this one was the most impressive yet.
