What Dave is not telling us all is that is the way they come out of the water when he is done with them :D:D

glassdave 03-07-2004 09:31 PM

these things are pretty cool to see upside down. gives you a feel for the design and engineering that went into them. the steps and strakes arent like anything else out there  .

yo Audio . . . . i can fix what i break :D :D :D

he is also pretty good at fixing what I FK up:p that reminds me.. want to talk to ya about my vette:(

glassdave 03-07-2004 10:10 PM

what ya crash into now . . . or lemmie guess. you were do'n a burn out with the pocket bike and launched it into the vette. thus crashing two of your vehicles at the same time while sustaining multiple injuries. . . . how was the ride on life flight :D :D

Interesting how the strakes run straight all the way to the bow. Every one else curves the strakes at the bow to follow the conture. Why doesn't any other manufactur do this straight strake? Is it good or bad?

Cord 03-08-2004 08:51 AM

Cool pics! Cobra-I think that it's just a styling thing. Usually the bow is above water, except in a stuff condition. Of course, when stuffing the extra lift from those strakes sure would be put to good use!

It is a very good thing. Ocke Designed the boat from the begining to be the safest, fastest race boat in the world in all conditions.

I have seen straight strakes to the front on a couple other boats (usually the ones out front if that tells you who they might be.) My guess is someone did it that way a long time ago and everyone copied what was out there. If you think about water and how it flows on the bottom surface when in rough water, when you speed up, and when you let off the throttles - it doesn't take long to figure out all the advantages.

Thanks Dave for all the hard work this weekend. Your work is always first class.

Cannot wait for the races, only a few weeks to go. Anyone interested in leasing in 2004, we will have new power and as you can see - all new bottoms and paint.

:D :D . . . i hear that alot :D  :D

Allan4 the putz king went out with us on Saturday night. its always cool to swap boat stories with these guys.

cobra- i think some of the design might also have to do with how narrow and light the bow is. these things dont mis a beat when you stuff one. i think you hit the nail on the head Cord.

Allan4 03-08-2004 09:45 PM

Yo Dave...atleast I know how to spell setardey correctly.

Anyway....:D ...nice hanging with ya this weekend and throwing around some good ole' stories. Pretty laid back night, but good to catch up a bit. Let me know when you are coming down this summer and we will get you out on the river. Also, I will be sure to tell you and Pack and Scott (the other Scott) and the other Toledo folks when we are heading to the big pond for some island hopping.

Nice work on the bat boats, nice pics too.

Later chief:)
