Boycott Mobil And Exxon

LETS STOP BUYING GAS FROM THEM FOR ONE MONTH !!!! START NOW !!! TELL 10 PEOPLE !!!!!!

Ron P 03-08-2004 09:37 AM

These are the biggest gas companies. STOP BUYING FROM THE PERIOD.

If they don't sell any gas, the price will fall.

Cord 03-08-2004 09:48 AM

So we should boycot Mobile, but buy from BP?

wayne 03-08-2004 12:00 PM

ITS GUYS LIKE FEVER MIKE THAT WILL MAKE IT NOT HAPPEN !!! JUST DO IT

TulsaLarry 03-08-2004 12:58 PM

Exxon/Mobile is not our problem:

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--
Lending support to the oil market, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said
Sunday that he may freeze oil exports to the U.S. and wage a "100-year war" if
Washington ever tries to invade Venezuela. Chavez has accused the U.S. of
being behind a failed 2002 coup and of funding opposition groups seeking a
recall referendum on his presidency. The U.S. has repeatedly denied Chavez's
accusations.
Venezuela provides about 15% of the oil imported by the U.S.
At least 500,000 Venezuelans marched Saturday in Caracas to protest the
National Elections Council's decision last week that an opposition petition
for the recall vote lacked enough valid signatures to hold a referendum.
Also supporting oil prices are continued expectations that the Organization
of Petroleum Exporting Countries will rein in 1.5 million barrels a day of
overproduction from its output ceiling and cut its output by another 1 million
barrels a day from April 1, which could further tighten U.S. gasoline supplies
heading into the peak summer demand season.
A tender issued by Iraq's State Oil Marketing Organization for lifting 6
million barrels of Kirkuk crude oil from the Turkish export port of Ceyhan
from March 12 to March 19 is seen as having little price influence early
Monday, traders and analysts said. But the tender appears to clear the way for
a resumption in oil exports through the Ceyhan terminal, following a restart
of oil flows through Iraq's northern oil pipeline last week.

dont we have oil in texas ??

Reed Jensen 03-08-2004 04:46 PM

I say we start drilling in the wilderness area of Alaska where we have oil reserves that are only second to the entire middle east. Then stop sending to Japan what oil we get from the Alaska pipeline. Let them buy the overpriced middle east crude.. We need to start worrying about America's problems instead of worrying what is happening in the rest of the world.

R Addiction 03-08-2004 04:51 PM

I heard that Reed!!!

REED JENSEN FOR PRESIDENT!!!!

fountain1fan 03-08-2004 06:01 PM

:D reed jensen how right you are . now shoot the tree huggers and do it.

C_Spray 03-08-2004 07:20 PM

 This comes up every year. I think I'm gonna puke.

Who was it that sorted this all out last winter by explaining how the oil markets really work, and where each oil company's oil really comes from. Please post again, sir.

Relax, folks - it's only a miniscule portion of your boating expenses, and it's cheaper here than just about anywhere in the free world. Go to Europe, where it's $5 a gallon and tell me how rough we have it.

What is $2.00 in 1970 dollars? About 40 cents? McDonalds burgers used to be 15 cents, and now they're ?? Let's boycott McDonalds, too....

Too Old would support that......;)

CAP071 03-08-2004 07:22 PM

How bout since we kicked Iraq's azz we just take their oil? :eureka:

I'm tired of trying. I think that was my post. We have been in the Oil business since 1984. I am the Marketing Director at our company and watch Ferc and Nymex from 7:30am to 5:30pm, everyday.

Just let everyone think it's OPEC, much easier that way.

eyezlee 03-08-2004 08:12 PM

LOL @ cigracer69 err pokerrungun t/s -

and here i thought all you did was drink... :)

10x 03-08-2004 08:29 PM

Reed Jensen for president !!!!! You're right!!! we should start worrying about us first. If they want to charge us $37 a barrel for oil, we should charge them $20 a bushel for their corn instead of $2.50 and $30 a bushel for the beans instead of $6.50 !!! When the hell is this country gonna WAKE UP !!!

Cessna172 03-08-2004 08:44 PM

Now Now guys. Let's be nice and stop throwing what we drive in each others face's.

Wayne,
I fill up where ever I can get it cheaper. The low price gets my business.

Sounds great, you want to deal with the tree huggers? Enviromentalists are a huge reason Alaska hasn't been tapped.

BK 03-08-2004 09:45 PM

It's not drillling that is the problem, it's taking the crude and refining it and producing enough to fill our needs after it gets drilled that is the problem.

They had a lady (Karen Matusic) on CSPAN the other night explaining that the amount coming out of Alaska (they are pumping a lot out of Alaska) was even being sold to Japan because there was no way for us to refine it all - we are already at refinery capacity and that doesn't even satisfy half of what we consume.

She also said our high consumption makes us rely on foreign sources for 50% of our oil - and Venezuela makes up a big chunk of that.

Here's the video:

Karen Matusic, Editor, Oil Daily
Karen Matusic, Editor of the Oil Daily, discusses gas prices and the gas supply in light of OPEC's expected production cut in April.

Sure, I'll Boycott both of them.

Neither company has any stations in our metro area.

Why don't we all just quit buying gas all together. Sell the trucks, boats and other toys. Buy some electric cars and help the electric companies get rich instead. Yeah, that'll show um:rolleyes:

Sorry, but there are 250 million cars on the road that NEED gas. If every member could get 100 people to do what you are asking, that might lower a gas company's revenue by a one half of one percent. The other companies could raise there prices because they know you won't buy it from those companies. All that would happen is different companies would gain a larger market share.

You could always move to middle east where gas is real cheap.

TulsaLarry 03-11-2004 10:25 AM

Citgo, the nations largest retailer of gasoline reports earnings rise over 200%:

For the year ending December 31, 2003, operating income was $809-million, including depreciation and amortization expense totaling $334-million. In comparison, for the year 2002 CITGOs operating income was $350-million, including depreciation and amortization expense totaling $299-million.

Serving nearly 14,000 branded, independently owned and operated retail locations, CITGO is also one of the five largest branded gasoline suppliers within the United States.

Yup. And whatever genius came up with this idea didn't put enough thought into it to figure out these are NOT the two largest oil companies, but are the SAME company.

robyw1 03-11-2004 03:46 PM

Why bother? you have to get your fuel somewhere and you're not going to use any less of it. The only real way to hurt oil companies is for everyone to buy hybrid cars. Since no one including myself is going to do this then stop pulling your hair about gas prices and move on to more important things in life like OSO and naked chicks

Then buy shares who do you think own these companies Einstein, the public!

Also they pay taxes probably to provide funding for your obviously none profit oriented source of revenue.

Your not talking to your tie-dye shirt wearing '78 Volvo driving friends here, you'll have to realize that companies are in business to make profits. If your think their profits are too much then start your own company and undercut them.
If you can't start a competing company the go back to smoke a joint and complain while holding up a sign collecting welfare checks or whatever it is you leaches do.

I love these guys where materialism starts 6 inches above the goals they are satisfied or competent to reach.

I guess they need an excuse for their wives and family to explain their lack of results.

Right on target! besides you can't manipulate the price of a commodity by choosing who you're going to buy it from. If company A has a high demand and low supply they will buy it from Company B which has a low demand and high supply, mark it up and stick it to you. Either way you're rear ended and company A thinks your antics are funnier than those seen at the boat ramp.
