Going in the classifieds section today
The boat in front is a 38 scarab.

Downtown42 03-10-2004 07:44 AM

Nice

FeverFan 03-10-2004 09:06 AM

That is a hugh boat! I've seen it in front of Victory for quite some time now. Doing all that work just to sell it?

CigDaze 03-10-2004 09:15 AM

Stunning!

Is this right? 1185hp @ 3200?

CigDaze 03-10-2004 09:16 AM

Nevermind...I see you fixed it. :)

Awesome!

glassdave 03-10-2004 09:20 AM

Hi-Tech Marine 03-10-2004 09:21 AM

victory

Was actually stored at Victory ...
\engines completed

Boat is still parked there.

14' wide .... requires permits to tow.

Will have the ad with details on the AllisonMarine.us web site and in classifieds today.

The engines came out impressive.

Hi-Tech Marine 03-10-2004 09:33 AM

Speed

prior to engine replacement was 85-sometimes bumping 90.
Target was 100 although in reality with mild boost & pump gas mid 90's.

glassdave 03-10-2004 09:38 AM

<laughing> I can relate to that quote

dockrocker 03-10-2004 10:33 AM

I've seen one of those things on Lake St. Clair back when they were being built up here in Michigan (at least, I think it is the same boat). It was godawful HUGE!!!!!! So big you had to kind of do a double take, make sure your eyes weren't playing tricks on you.

Perfect poker run boat for you and 25-30 of your closest friends! :D

McGary911 03-10-2004 11:50 AM

Holy Crap! I just checked out the thing on http://www.allisonmarine.us/airborne_cat.htm

That thing is a monster! Cool Cool boat.

dockrocker 03-10-2004 01:07 PM

I thought I read somewhere that Skater bought the molds for that boat - true?

glassdave 03-10-2004 01:49 PM

dockrocker, i heard the same thing last time i was up at oceanExpress.

Thats a huge *****!!! Behemoth

dockrocker 03-11-2004 07:31 AM

Seems to me that boat is just begging for a pair of turbines, or maybe some good-sized diesels. Seems almost too big for gas motors.

Hi-Tech Marine 03-11-2004 08:06 AM

diesel

There is ample space for the large 3196 CAT's but speed would be lower.
At this price (less than half of new).... a repower to whatever the owner wants is feasable. The engines currently installed are new and could be resold.

Hi-Tech Marine 03-11-2004 08:40 AM

OT

Sounds like a good project for OT (Fred) .....

dockrocker 03-11-2004 08:40 AM

Got to love standing headroom under the hatch! Put a light down there and wrench away, rain or shine!

Downtown42 03-11-2004 09:15 AM

Disappointed there is no desk station with glass enclosure in the engine room to do paperwork and such, while keeping an eye on the systems.:(

dockrocker 03-11-2004 11:13 AM

Of course, if you've got the scratch to buy one of these bad boys, I imagine you can write the check to have someone else turn the wrenches... :)

I was thinking the same thing. That engine room is a garage!

Love Machine 03-11-2004 04:17 PM

That would be an awesome boat to enter into the Miami to New York race next year.

Panther 03-11-2004 04:24 PM

How did you make 722 CI??

Hi-Tech Marine 03-12-2004 08:58 AM

Good question>>>

Great question. I am not a engine expert .... I just like to run them.

You can contact Bill (the name "Lil Bill") at Victory Marine in Houston and he can answer the technical questions regarding the engine.

Hi-Tech Marine 03-12-2004 09:06 AM

The boat is ready to go and a 9 3/4
Essentially a new boat at 395k
An Aluminum/Stainless trailer is available with DOT strobes although the boat would have to come through our Panama City location for set up.

Hey Gary ...you out there ... <grin> this would look great with "Live Bait" on the side.

MiamiVice 03-12-2004 09:23 PM

Hey Bill , I was out at Victory looking at the 86 scarab 38 he was building an engine for and I saw you boat. Very impressive! I didn't buy the boat, the owner was dicking around so I got my deposit back and wasted time and money making the trip.

Hi-Tech Marine 03-12-2004 10:43 PM

Miami

Looking forward to the trip up North on the Scarab.
Going to see Old Timer and can run up from there on same trip.

In Ozarks now ... will Email you or call you when I get back to FL
