Hold it ....I'm not near as old as Lloyd Bridges:D :D .
I was hoping somebody else on here was old enough to remember and not just say "whoda hell is Mike Nelson":D

Thats nothing, do you know how many winch handles we loose in a race (snailboat) we break the floating ones so Stainless is all that will stand up to 100s of lbs of preasure. No carbon in stainless means no magnet. We have 20 on board and loose five in a race across lake MI and 10 in the Chicago to Mack...just a cost of business and fun.:D Lines pick them out of the winch and running around and changing for sails always is a problem. We have 10 winches and 20 sails.:D

CAP071 03-10-2004 05:40 PM

How warm/cold is that water ? :p

KH0302 03-10-2004 05:54 PM

I think it's probably 45 or 50. I just lucked out, Tom at First Mate Marine has a big magnet and left it on the front porch for me. :p

Thanks, God! :D:D:D

Them things are heavy too!! I can see you on the mottom feeling for it, finding it, and not having the bouyancy to bring it to the surface!!! If you drop it, you might not find it again.... if you hold on to it, you might drown..... what a dilema!!!!

mopower 03-10-2004 06:21 PM

I found an anchor one time and had that exact problem and believe me it is a problem:rolleyes:

KH0302 03-10-2004 06:34 PM

I have a ratchet strap on the dock...I'll get whatever I find or sink the dock. :D

It isn't that heavy but Tom came out when I picked it up and stuck it on a trailer and said pull it straight off. I slid it off the edge. :D

It was pretty stuck.

cuda 03-10-2004 06:51 PM

How deep is it?

KH0302 03-10-2004 07:06 PM

I dropped the lift, pushed the boat out, and laid on the wet boat lift with a 10' hook, arm all the way in---no touchee.

I think this killermag will get it and some wrenches tomorrow.

Waterfoul 03-10-2004 07:17 PM

You throw wrenches in the water? I love you man!! I have done this!!! It feel great for an instant.... then you are like....."damn, I need that wrench!!! Well, off to Sears again..."

KH0302 03-10-2004 07:18 PM
