Hard to see/tell from that slightly angled photo . . see if you can have the seller send you more / better ones and then post them up.

I know it shouldn't be listed as a 2001.
Sorry, that just bugs me when sellers do that. When a guy drops a crate motor in a '72 Nova, then sells it, does he list it as a 2004?

That boat has been for sale for over a year now. Go check it out.

Seems to be limited for the most part to Cigarette boat ads.

I just repainted my lower units on my '99 boat. Think maybe I will list it as a 2004.
 ;) :D

I'm sure that if one of you guys did a frame-off restoration of a 1970 GTO / Road Runner / Camaro / insert your preference here, and you where the one selling the car, I'm sure that you would mention that in the ad too :

"Completely restored in 2003"

"Frame-off / frame-on restoration in 2001"

"New engine and transmission last year"

" 3 month old paint "

Same thing.

With all do respect, it is advertised as 2001 boat.

Not an '87 for which it is.

Your example is how they SHOULD read.
restored in....
rebuilt in....

Far from the 'same thing'.

The ad says it has a 2002 trailer, why not just say it is a 2002 outfit? Same thing, right?

The ad is placed as a 2001 boat with a low '87 price just to get more lookers. I guess if you have to resort to decieving to get lookers, more power to them.

Looks like a Flat Deck to me.

Biggus-

We thought the same thing. Before we bought our boat we called on this boat. As you know we didn't buy it.....

That's exactly what I was thinking. Correct me if I'm wrong but there were a very limited # of Topguns built in 87. That is a chity picture but it looks like a flatdeck to me also.
