Marathin Key to the Bahamas Question
 

To make a long story short. I lost a bet with someone and need to make good on it. We will be in Marathon Key during the week of July 23-30 for mini lobster season and I need to take them to the Bahamas (or some other place) for lunch and maybe an overnighter. I know that they are closer to say Miami or Palm beach but since I will be down in Marathon already, does anyone know of place to go that is reachable by boat that is away from what we are already going to experience in Marathon. If so, how far is it approx. and what does one have to do to enter (i.e. being a foreign country) whatever place by boat. Are there any other islands closer to Marathon proximity that might be just as nice of an adventure. Of course, this is all subject to sea conditions.

Any help would be appreciated.

Little Palm Island. Just off Big pine key very nice, Deep water access,Very nice tropical setting, sandy beaches. Arrive at night your guests would not know they are only 4.5 miles from US 1. its on charts.:) :)

Cuba, it's omly 90 miles away and you don't need any papers just money. I have never done it but some of my friends have and they say it's cool just don't get caught.

Talk to your insurance about the Bahamas before you leave.
