Steve,
Don't take what I said in a wrong way. And although my post had defeatist tones the thing I wanted to convey was the way I see your sport from my very casual fan point of view. I also take into account what I perceive to be a much harder time for these types of forums to get sponsorship from corporate America due to the more scrutinized times those corporations now have to deal with.

The perceived loss of a major sponsor for your series (Bud) and the division of CART and IRL producing a lot more entities vying for relatively the same sponsorship dollars might impact you. Again this in my very casual look at this situation.

I have no doubt of your commitment and the impressiveness of the show you guys put up and it is right up my alley, I might even take you up on your invite. I was not doubting your organization just the economic climate it relies on. You'd find that even though my post seemed defeatist I am ever the optimist and always up for a great time, ask a lot of people here, the only trait that might supplant this is the fact that I say what I think without sugar coating and tend to be an implacable realist!!!

Good Luck and as I mentioned I hope you prove me wrong.

Steve, do you know if the Thunder Boats will ever come back to Norfolk. Those races used to be one of the highlight of the summer for me.

Steve, we'll be at the St. Clair race; better increase that pit size to accomodate all us OSO fans!

Anything back in the North East?

I would love to go see these races live.

GLH, thank you for your thoughtful response. You're right on target in every respect. Sponsors are so tough to get and we are so blessed that another stepped up so quickly. One theory is that Bud is such a dominant player that others may have thought no matter what they did, Bud would get top billing. Many think that's what happened with Atlas Van Lines, Miller Brewing, and others.

Whatever City we race in, if any of you are there, please call me at 954-980-2643 and I'll have OSO VIP passes for you. O Boy! O Berto, and I look forward to sharing it with each of you in an up close and personal basis.

As to Norfolk and a New England race. Norfolk went away with the Naval budget custs, as did the Pearl Harbor event. It's doubtful funding will be restored for either event

New England on the other hand, has some candidate sites, that may materialize for 05'.

Thanks again guys, and thank you GLH, I appreciate your direct approach.

You may very well be correct. And if you are thinking of handing a wrench or screw driver to GLH, you may want to think again, I am not sure he knows which end the handle is. j/k buddy!
