Default How much us this Donzi worth?

Friend of mine is looking at a 2000 Donzi 28ZX Scorpion edition.

Fully Loaded with Pumpout Head, windshield, power bolsters.

Boat & motors have 20 Hours.

Boat has full Z-care warranty until Dec, 2005

How is this boat for a first time boater & how much is it worth.

Owner asking $85,000

Thanks,
Guys. I know somebody has to have a boat book out there!!

I do not have a book anymore, but according to what I have seen them listed for that is a great price. Cheapest starting point for one I have seen. I do not know if a trailer comes with the deal or not, but that isn't a big money issue on this boat.

The scorpions are hard to re-sell in my opinion mainly because of the price tag, but if that is what he wants then it sounds like a good deal.

As fas as the boat goes I believe the 28 is an awesome boat. It will handle some big water, and is really big for its size. I like the 28 better than any other hull Donzi builds except for the ZR. With the Scorpions it will be fast especially for a first time owner. Depending on his experience it might even be too much boat for a first timer. Not really my call, but just my opinion, it is very driveable though. Don't really have to mess with much unless it gets really rough. Another thought might be a 28Zx with twin 350 mags in the 60-70,000 range for a first timer. Another thing is be careful with the Z-Care, I know some people are having a hard time getting there stuff worked on. All in all an awesome first boat.

take nada for what you want. it says this boat is worth betwen 61,000-81,000. i have a hard time believing you will buy a '00 Scorpion with twenty hours on it for less than 80,000, and even at that it would be close to high retail in nada which nobody ever pays. I would take a look at ABOS book that is what 100% of the dealers I have known use. From what I am told most finance companies use this as well, or at least a combination of the two.

Look at yachtworld.com, none of them touch this price. If I was looking for one $85,000 is an unbelievable starting price.

that '98 is not even in the same league as a '00 scorpion. nice boat but many diferences. changed many things on '99's and newer just look at the dash, and steering wheel. the changes do not stop there either, many more. this is of course in addition to all the other upgrades the scorpion has compared to that boat.

not a bad price on the '98 though.

We'll see what happens.

I think he was negotiable on the $85,000

I've owned a 38ZX myself with 525's and I happen to think that Donzi makes a hell of a boat.

This is true Chris. I know my friend pretty well, once he learns how to drive this boat, He'll out grow it and want to step in to something bigger. So Buying this boat at a price of what others are willing to pay will be a good idea
