Default Digital camera help!!

I'm looking at buying a digital camera. I have limited knowledge about them. Can I get a decent one for $300-400.

I'm looking for one also. I don't want a $1,000 camera Just something I can shoot pics with at boat races and boat shows and the occasional bikini shots

I just bought one in December at Office Depot.
Canon A60, 2 megapixels, 256MB card. $199 for everything!
Sure, everybody will say you "must have" 3.2 or 4 or 5 megapixels, I researched these things for almost a year, narrowed it down to the Panasonic and the Canon, decided on the Canon based on the special they were running which included the 256mb card (a $79 value).
It's plenty for me for now. For lots of info on cameras go to: www.cnet.com

I got a Fuji Finepix F700. 6.2 megapixel, 3X optical, 2.2 digital. Came with charging/download cradle and USB cable. $400.00. I got it for the new baby but also takes great macro shots of the corals in my fish tank!

Another tank shot, the right side. I still haven't figured the camera out yet and I know it can take great pictures.

I recently bought a Fuji FinePix S3000 for $230 at walmart, Walmart had the best price for this camera.. It is a 3.2 mega pixel, with 6x optical zoom... It was the best bang for your buck that I could find

I dont know much about them, but everyone I talked to about them pushed me to buy the Sony. I bought a Sony 5 mega pixel about 3 months ago for Right at $400, so far it has been doing an excellent job.

If you are gonna shoot boats and a tad T&A you need a 10x OPTICAL zoom more than anything...Check out the Olympus line...

I went on consumer reports and checked out what they said. They also have links to stores for the best deals. I bought my nikon thru newegg.com. There are a lot of other places to buy them cheap. I bought a coolpix 5700 for 680.00. I love it. It was worth the money to subscibe to consumer reports. Later Cliff
