It was my Friend's 50 Superhawk that sank, he left me a message last night. I don't know all the details yet but everybody was OK an unhurt. This guy has over 1000 hours behinde the wheel in the bahamas since 1992. So I don't know why this happend. I'll post more as I find out.

Sorry to hear this! It hurts because a SS Superhawk 50 is a very nice thing indeed. Hope your friend was properly insured...
However, I think he tore more than rudders off. Normally, on Trimax drive boats, rudders and the steering hydraulics are in a rear compartment which is that Trimax-specific rear platform. This compartment is sealed off from the engine space and usually has its own bilge pump. In other words, poking holes in this area is unlikely to sink the boat. It sounds like extensive hull damage forward of that area is a more probable explanation for this incident.
It can happen to anybody. Especially to Europeans who venture into these waters. In the Med, as soon as you get about 3' from the dock, you have about 1000' under you. Seriously, not many places in the Med are as tricky as Bahamas/Florida Keys. Running at 70 in 6' of water freaks me out yet you guys seem used to it. You need serious cool to do it. Respect.

His first name is Carlos. Don't know his last. He had a Black Thunder and boated on the Potomac mostly. Really nice guy. He was on my boat while I swept during the Cambridge races and he owed me a ride on that SuperHawk. Dog gone it!
