The old style mechanical injection systems (like Kinsler) are great for running wide open and usually load up idling.

EFI is the way to go but requires a MAP (algorithims in a Engine Controller that tell it the spark advance, load ,temp, etc.) andf then solve for the amount of fuel to be injected.

Custom MAP's are expensive, but coming down in price.

A complicated subject, Teague is now selling EFI blown engines. Ask them who does their system.
