Default It's A Shame

The whole Flats bar district on the river is for the most part closed It's more about DWI laws and competition from the suburbs than anything else. As far as Shooters wanting larger boats, I don't blame them after watching the experiences of several bar owners with dock space. Sportboaters in general make for lousy customers, I watched, sitting beside the owner of a new watering hole on Erie two years ago as six boats arrived, docked, everyone came in used the facilities, went back to their boats took beer out of their coolers and posed. That restaurant is also now closed

I do not know how many other areas do this but Bars on Fire Island charge 25to 50 bucks to tie up, then give you a voucher for the bar for the same amount, seem to work for them.

Wink

We raced in Clevland in 2001 and The Flats rocked. Man it was the highlight of our trip! I do remember the service was the worst I've ever seen though - BH
