"Tales from the Trim Tab Lab"...
Well, as Sunday is dwindling and my hourmeter is showing 80+ I thought I would take this moment to share the formost project at Martiniboat Marine Design.
This K-plane backing plate belongs to forum member 'Cignificant'. Steve was tired of repainting his K-planes so he made the decision to go stainless. (Sorry for the poor photo quality, I'm too damn tired to play with the necessary camera adjustments)
Back to the lab...

WOW That looks great and it is a good idea that you all came up with. Are you going to make a stainless tab or just the plate?

Thanks Audiofn,
I will be producing full trim tab assemblies in stainless for the K-plane series. They will be retrofits for those who already have the pumps and rams etc. I've got many more ideas on the way as time permits!

The prototype Victory backing plates for the K-plane retrofit will be going out UPS today. I'm going with the 'select' shipping option to insure that you get them for the weekend engine installations.
Once you get your drives installed make up a cardboard template measuring 14" wide at the transom, and 9" at the tip with an overall length of 22" measured at the centerline. This will tell us if we'll have any clearance issues. The Victory tab I'm proposing for your Cig will be tapered equally on both sides. It's no problem to taper them a little more on one side either if we have to, my personal preference is 'symetrical'
I'll be offering at least three different versions for the Victory K-plane retrofit.
Talk to you soon Steve, let us know how the engine(2) install goes.

Brian, at that size they'll hit the drives if they're tilted up with the drive turned hard to either side. They'll need to either be shorter, or tapered more on one side.
The back plates went on easy. The holes lined up perfectly. Great job! I meant to take pictures, but it got dark before I could grab my camera.
