Eric had dry exhaust on a HP509 Carb, pushing about 565HP. With that slotted swim platform, can you say 125db?????? I hear the current owner in NY got three tickets before adding mufflers. Drew Shotguns I believe.

Mr Gadgets great looking ship. I have a 25' Convincor.
Thanks for the Pics. Eric e-mailed me some good pics last night as well. I think I may have changed my mind now and go for the full length platform. I purposely left a small section of last years Potomac River scudge on my transom to see the water line. Even with that, it's hard to imagine what it's going to look like.

Thanks!

If you want it closer to the water, you could have them make a section that would flip up as the drive lifted, kinda complicated, but just a thought.

Good luck
Dick

Here's another. A Checkmate probably has a little more free board so it may be higher off the water.

Mine just barely clears my exhaust tips.

Good info

I am building my own and was going to have it powder coated. That is a good point about corrosion under any crack in coatings. I may look at epoxy or simply polishing to a mirror finish (can you say slippery?)

other option is Stainless ....but that is so heavy not really interesed in the weight.

And yes it is an Extreme Marine and when the powercoat starts to fall off, it will be sand blasted and painted, but I hope not soon.. So far so good!!

Sand blasting won't touch it - I took it to a sandblasting place and they gave up. The only thing I've found that will soften it is Airplane coating remover available at Advance Auto. Get yourself about 20 cans at $5 a can and get ready for a lot of misery.

I've read that a "hot alkeline dip" will also take it off, but I don't know where to take mine locally.
