My guess is 75-77. Is that speedo pitot tube, or GPS? The pitot will show approximately 4-5 faster at those speeds which would show what he's showing...

Just checked that Bam calculator link above. I used both 8000 lbs and 8500 lbs. I also used 240 as the constant (more towards heavy twin hull design) and the speed crunched out at 75-77. My guess was fairly close. Anyone have any real time experience with the 33...?

I never dialed the props with the 496's, but ran them up to 4800 rpm. I figured I was running around 68+. I think the Baja should run a lot faster due to the weight, length and, more than likely, a faster bottom.

I know someone on another board that did a sea trial this past Saturday and it did 75.2 GPS. He said he didn't have time to play around much with the trim because the rain was moving in. I would say anything over 77MPH would be a stretch

G, that's what I thought...I was just comparing to your old Cafe. The Baja bottom is fairly similar to the Cig bottom. and I think the cafe only weighed like 1000 more. If your seeing 75 with that package, that's nothing to scoff at. Turn Key power, good speed, in a killer looking boat for a good price. Sounds good to me...However, my Baja is for sale...Cig please, thanks.

I would guess between 72-74 mph but not anywhere near 80.
I talked to a guy that had a 33 with whippled 496's that dyno'd at 650hp and he was hittin 91 but that was with a blueprinted hull and completely dialed in with props and such.
Don't know if this helps but my.02.
