Wind Screens
1 Attachment(s)
OK. I need some help. Been asking around in an attempt to find some pop up windscreens for my Baja Outlaw. My wife hates the amount of wind we get in the face and my 20 month old son could do without it also.
Here are a couple of pics. Anyone know where I can get something like this aftermarket? Please do NOT recommend the windaway product as I do NOT have any windshield to attach this product to. I need something that I can thru-bolt onto the boat. |

Second pic with a slightly different twist.

Yo Pointerman-

I have a Outlaw 20. See below for pic.

I was hoping to find something to mount on the ridge just in front of the dash, but if I need to I can go the route of the Cig. in the first pic.

I think a pair of red annodized grab handles and either the Wind Away product, or clamped on (removeable) screens would look awesome.
|
Have you checked out the Lexan lip on the windscreen of the 25ol and 33ol.. I think you have have the same thing made for your 20.. You can have a plexiglass/lexan shop, cut and mold it to conform to existing lip.

Found these handles at Eddie Marine http://www.eddiemarine.com/cart/deta...&CategoryID=45 Just need to find some screens that I can clamp on. |

Here is a pic of the 25 OL screen, but it doesn't look like it would help very much. The clamp on ones could be put straight up for maximum deflection when the family is on board and speed isn't the primary concern.

18" X 8" - $129 or 18" X 10" - $139 and they're available in different colors. Comes with polished grab rails but you can have them powder coated for an additional fee. Mark |
You rock! No Yahoo search in the world would have found me those. Looks like it will be pretty pricey (anything other than black or white is $50), but it will be well worth the investment. Gotta take some measurements on the boat tonight.

Heres another company that makes a couple different kinds.

I came across that site sometime last year after extensive searching. Good Luck!!

hoghead...did you ever find a wind deflector for your Propotype/Joker?
|
Well, I decided not to put any on for now. I'm about to get the boat painted and may add them when that's finished. I would most likely go with the ones from finneys - blue grabrail with white deflector.

Pointerman, The Finney's windscreen works great. The hardware is nice and installation easy and straightforward. I have them on both my cats. They do tend to want to flatten out at speeds over 90. Good luck. Doug

I would get in touch with Tres Martin and put the "Cafe Racer" style deflectors on. They are slanted slightly to accomodate the fairing angle and somewhat low profile to keep the lines of the boat.

Originally posted by Pointerman How do you control them being in either the up or down position? They will pop up by themselves at around 40 mph, but we'll put them up getting on plane. There is alot of force on them when they flip up and would hate to have a face full of deflector! lol The hold down tab would be nice when trailering, but we don't have to trailer often or far. Just have to remember to put them up before we go. Bruce |
