real happy with the boat. handles well in rough water. cockpit space is a little tight, but I usually only have one or two people with me so I don't mind it. It gives a longer nose and extra cabin space.

I personally like the stringer system. This JOKER will have a 150 gallon gas tank - BH

Dave:

I use the black coosa board. It's very light and strong. I have 2 race boats that have it in them and it's been flawless. BH

ps........Hoghead you boat is looking good!

glassdave 05-07-2004 06:45 PM

cool stuff. i was going to contact Coosa composites and see if they would sell me a few samples for reference. i have been doing glasswork for a while now (more years than i care to think about:rolleyes: :D ) but most has been in repair rather than construction. been taking on a few interesting projects lately that are getting me closer to building a few boats. hope ya dont mind if i take some notes, you build a great piece.

by the way. i was really enjoying the thread you put up a few weeks ago on the construction of the CC, i think it was the stringer fill topic. to bad it got hi-jacked and steered of course. hopefully that wont discourage you from posting similar threads. thanks

hoghead- nice looking graphics. dont forget to keep us posted on the finished pics. looks great. love the colors. oh . . an in post #36 you need to get yer guy a hands free cell phone :D :D makes taping easier.

glassdave:

Hey man thanks for the positive words. I'll be glad to help you in anyway. I build boats because it's my passion and I don't build them for a living. I'll throw in some pics now and then. We've began tooling the liner and that's been our hold up on this project. If I was building a race boat or pleasure boat we'd be just about through. See ya man - BH

:D :D not sure anyone builds boats for a living. hell, i think most of my best glasswork i did for free. ask Chris Reindl :D :D i am the same way about this stuff. it really is an art and requires some pre-thought. its actually not my main biz either, just been doing it for a while now. i have been playing around with alot of carbon fibers and hybrid weaves latley though. fun fun fun   thanks
