Mark,
The 05's are going to be a little different from what I hear. In the middle of April, I will be at the Ford meeting in Vegas and should find out for sure there.

Too Old, I am sure you can get adaptors to fit a GMC. Go to chromewheel.com and ask for Bernie. He is in Texas. Don't confuse his website with chromewheels.com

I am very interested. I could buy the truck anywhere. In Illinois, we do not have to pay sales taxes on 1 ton trucks. Is it the same where you are? The used trucks are as much as the new trucks, so I would rather build exactly what I want. The warrantees make it easy to buy new.

I really like the look of the 22.5 Alcoa's but I am wondering if it would reduce the towing ability with the big wheels making it a higher gear ratio. Will a truck set up like this still be able to tow my old heavy Top Gun as well as a stocker?

How much taller are these 22.5 tire combos than the stock tire/wheel set up?

Kurt

Biggus:
I don't know about the Ford, but my 2500HD actually tows better with big tires (35").
It lowers the RPM to 2000 at 72 MPH.
If you think about where the peak torque is on a diesel, this is where they should run anyway, IMHO.

Default Oh yeah???

I just got this guy for my installers...
F550 6.0 4.88 rear. Brand new yesterday. 17,500 GVW. I believe the tow cap was something like 20,000lb...
Pulling a 11,000lb trailer, and another 4,500lb on the bed.

How you like me now???

Yep
12 GP29 batteries are inside the tongue on the trailer.
I'd say 1500lb+ tongue wt.. Barely moved the rear of the truck.

My spanish guy calls it "la machina".. The Machine.
