Conduit Clamps
I need to replace the 2 hole straps ( clamps) on 4" electrical conduit that runs down the bulkhead. The galvanized ones the electrician just aren't cutting it. Are the grey pvc clamps OK or should I try and find stainless ones? Stainless is forever but the only clamps I was able to find were $6 each. I need 20 of them.

The plastic ones will get brittle with age. Heat will also shorten their useful life.
If they aren't in a high-stress situation, though, they should work fine. Why don you need 20 of them? Send pix of area in question. |
It's a long run, close to 100'. The conduit runs along the bulkheak just under the top whaler.

Originally posted by mr_velocity Work, what work? That's what the fall is for. I just need to cut the covers and I'm ready to go. Did get the 14' out this weekend and the Proline. I'll have to post pictures of those nuts, of the 4 only one was whole and even that was cracked on one side. The TRS nuts were a perfect fit, $4.77 a pop. In stock at Freddie's. When I get back I'll cut the cover on the Whaler. The Velocity will stay wrapped until the 3rd week of May. Water in the river was a balmy 43 degrees. Pulled the motor saturday and replaced the trans. Now I just need to bolt it all together and rebuild the port side gimbal ring. After I pulled the motor I went to my buddies house pulled his motor and replaced his transom assembly. We started work at 8am and finished at 6:45pm! My boat should be all set to go by the weekend of the 17th. |
