Newest addition to my garage
1 Attachment(s)
Here is the newest addition to my garage, just picked it up Saturday morning.Went to the dealership to get my headlight on my truck replaced(under warranty) told me it would take about 20 minutes so i figured i would go and check out the new vettes in the showroom,i have bought all my new vehicles from this dealership(7) total so they all know me pretty well,i seen this vette sitting there and was told by my salesperson they would give me a really good deal on it to get it out of there so they can order the 2005 models,Window sticker was $47,685 he told me $41,264 would buy it ,that was invoice, he even showed me the invoice, after all taxes, license, title it came to around $43,000,then he told me he would also give me a $2,000 rebate so i ended up paying about $41,000 out the door.I thought it was a pretty good deal. Considering the Z06 sitting next to it for$56,000.Already have plans to send it to Indiana to the Lingenfelter shop for a engine /supercharger/exhaust upgrade, a mini tub, and lowered 1 inch, rear tire size will be 19/345.New motor should make about 140 hp more at the rear tires, should be a screamer, even with the added cost's at lingenfelter's shop, approximately $12,000 i will still be way under the cost of a Z06 or a viper and will smoke either of them. Here are a couple of pics

Sweet ride. Keep us posted if you do the upgrades.

So how did you drive both home? Or which one did you drive home first?
|
Sweet ride! Congrats and good luck.
You will love the Lingenfelter work. My old bosses had 1 Vette done by them and the other boss had a Callaway Vette. both were awesome rides |
Awesome ride, perfect color, and the best guy in the industry as far as the mods go, well respected amoungst his peers, sad to see MR L. pass away, Im gladd to see his legend and shop still working on mods, good luck, beautiful car, take pics when everything is done. Jeff:D

After some mild coaxing my wife drove my truck home which she wasnt to thrilled about it is a Duramax diesel that makes almost 700 hp/1100 ft/lbs,she is scared to drive it but i turned off the propane so she would drive it ,it is a good thing she wasn't with me ,i had to see what it had and really got squirrelly thru 1st and 2nd gears around a corner,of course she was right behind me and seen it and within about 30 seconds my cell phone was ringing and it was her i believe her quote was(if you are going to drive it like that i wont ride with you):o busted.I already have a Lingenfelter motor in my boat,605ci naturally aspirated that makes 840hp/800 ft.lbs and it is a kick ass motor never let me down in 3 yrs of abuse. He might be expensive but i am a firm believer of you get what you pay for.i will keep everyone posted on my project.Cant wait to go pick it up after it is done and see the Lingenfelter badge on the side of the car:D

Congrats on a really sweet ride. My father is a Vette aficionado currently with a 2000 C5. The C5 is a amazing and look out when the C6 hits the streets.

What have you done to your Duramax to get that power? What trans mods? We "bomb" quite a few and I always like hearing what other mods people are doing. Sam BTW, nice car. |
SWEET CAR! Remember, it is much easier to beg foregiveness than it is to ask permission.:D :p

I pull my HTM SR 24 with a 02 2500HD quad cab 4X4 Duramax/Allison with a few slight modifications 1.Custom chip from Predator 160hp,300ft/lbs of torque 2.Another chip from Duramaximizer stacked on the Predator with a adjustable fuel pressure switch in the cab.Can go from stock fuel pressure(7000psi) to (25000psi) so much for fuel economy in this mode.Add another80 hp,125ft/lbs of torque and a thick black puff of smoke 3.Stock tranny dint last more than 2 weeks so i had to break out the old wallet again ,and ordered a complete transmission and torque converter from ATSDIESEL.COM (CHECK OUT THE WEB SITE)COOL STUFF THERE 4.Next is a 4 inch stainless steel exhaust , to give it a little rumble let me tell you it makes alot of noise now. 5.Last but not least a 22 gal PROPANE tank hidden nicely in my diamond plate tool box, pumping another125 hp,250ft/lbs into the formula. With all my slight mods it gives us a grand total of 705 HP,1179 FT/LBS OF TORQUE. And i am getting ready to order my new(much larger) injectors that will give me another 90 hp guaranteed from dealer ,not sure about torque yet. year to date ass kickins on the street total a handful of jap junk with the coffee can exhaust and 3 (5.0) mustangs by 4-5 car lenghts.Iwill send some pics whenever it stops raining and i can get it all shined up for some pics Last edited by BAD HTM SR 24 on 03-05-2004 at 03:16 AM |

I stopped in the "Toy Store" on my way to the airpot to fly home...Ended up driving a conv. 911 home... I love impulse buying!!!!!!! |
Bad HTM,
sorry to disagree with everyone above but, you should have bought something cool that has some power, performance, looks etc and is the best deal in its category of performance cars......... oh, wait, you did!....great car bro! |
Re: Newest addition to my garage
Well guys ,the vette just didnt cut it.After buying my wife a new E320 Benz for her b-day last year i got spoiled with german engineering,so i was always lacking something when i was driving my vette.I began to do some research on Mercedes Benz, for something that was fast, and here is what i ended up getting last saturday night.
2004 E55 AMG Mercedes Benz 5.5 L Supercharged V-8 469 hp@ 6100 rpm 516 lb-ft@2650-4500 rpm This thing is very fast ,incredible is more accurate.I got lucky and found a used one in Naperville ,Illinois.Since Mercedes only makes 1200 a yr for the USA they were very hard to find,i called about 40-50 dealers across the country and ended up finding one 60 miles from my house.I even feel i got a good deal on it. They had one in the showroom that was identical to mine only difference was it was black,it had a sticker of $103,900,mine had 1428 miles on it and i got it for $90,000.Them 1428 miles saved me $13,900 off the sticker plus taxes on that money also.A 2004 car with only 1428 miles on it isnt used in my book but it was in theirs and that was a good thing. This is the fastest production car i have driven and the options on the car are absolutely incredible, the car has sensors in it that will inflate the seats during a hard cornering manueveur .If i am cornering hard to the left the right side of the seats inflate so you dont slide out, very cool option. This car corners better than my vette did and is alot faster.0-60 in 4.2 seconds,90 -130 is awsome, the dealer said the only other production vehicle faster than mine from 90 -130 is a $350,000 Ferrari, wether that is true or not i dont know but i do know mine is very strong on the top end.At 25 mph i can smoke the tires, not bad four a 4 door sedan. The braking capability is unreal 13.0 inch vetilated rotors in the rear and huge 14.2 inch ventilated in the front with 8 piston calipers.Another cool feature is that Mercedes builds the car and then they send it to their AMG factory where on guy assembles the motor and then he signs his name on top of the supercharger.Sry didnt mean to ramble on but i am more excited about this car than i was when i got my boat |
